Personality:
Kind, Courageous, Caring. Those three words sum up Rynk’s actions and his speaking. He appears to be a natural optimist and a hard-worker; as well as being loyal to his friends and allies. Although at times he may seem as though he is the carefree sort of person, he actively tries to ensure the safety of others and the things and people he cares for most of all. Rynk is the kind of person who would gladly venture into danger for the simple fact that he would rather harm come to himself rather than another innocent. He has an unbreakable sense of determination and hope and would most likely be seen fighting on until the end. Rynk often has his own opinions and outlooks on life and nature—most of which he got from his father as a child—and enjoys being around the out-doors when more important matters are not occurring in the moment. Though, when serious matters do arise, he is a no-nonsense and able fighter, usually entering combat on the defensive rather than charging forward with his own attack. Though he does not enjoy fighting or blood-shed in any way, and is often the one to attempt to break up disputes; he feels that it is his duty in some way to protect those in need of help, or in imminent danger. Rynk is able to realize his flaws, and accepts the fact that he is not perfect in many ways—but that does not keep him from striving to achieve what he feels is right.
Weapon:
Picture--
i179.photobucket.com/albums/w304/SwiftStrikerXX/RynksSword.jpgRynk’s sword is a ‘hand-me-down’ family heirloom given from father or mother to the child who wishes to venture out away from home and see the world. Although it’s not provably true, there is a family rumor that whoever wields the sword is protected by a guardian angel who strives her best to ensure the safety of its wielder if they are noble at heart and only use the blade as a means to protect themselves, or someone of innocence.
The blade is the length of an espadon, or “One-and-a-half-hand sword.” It is able to be swung or lunged forward by one hand, but it feels more comfortable to balance off the weight of its length by gripping it with two hands. The sword is fairly light and durable. Though its edges have lost their razor-blade sharpness over the years, it’s still a versatile, and if need-be, deadly weapon.
Rynk’s fighting style is fluent, choosing to use speed and motivation over power and strength of his blows. He is agile and flexible, though he lacks brute strength; however, Rynk makes up for it with his keen eyes and sense of awareness. Fighting tactically, and choosing to let his opponents to attack first to avoid combat as long as he can, Rynk is an excellent swordsman--although he often neglects admitting he is so. When not in use, Rynk keeps the blade kept in a simple sheath strapped onto his back and does his best to keep the blade from being damaged, or repairing it in his free-time.
Story:
Rynk was born on a ranch out near the suburbs that ran to a large city. His father and mother raised Chocobo for rental stations, as well as other cattle and animals for various purposes. At first being shy and timid in youth, Rynk was finally convinced that he needed to become courageous through stories his father would tell to him about his great grandfather who had ‘done many great things in his time.’
As Rynk grew up, he had the beginnings of what seemed to be a great animal-tamer and rider both towards chocobo and horses alike. His father told him that he would inherit the ranch next after him, but Rynk passed by the offer—claiming he wanted to venture out into the world away from home and see all that he could see.
With the support of his parents and his own work, they raised enough money for him to afford his adventurer’s license. On the day before he left, he was presented with the family’s heirloom Sword, and at the last moment, the moogle who had acted as a sort of servent to the family, Moggar decided to go along with him. This choice occured after he saw how sad Rynk’s mother seemed when was watching her son leave home. “I’ll be sure to take care of him, kupo!” was the little moogle’s assuring call towards them as they left.
Moggar:
Moggar is a white-furred moogle with an orange pom-pom and small purple wings that is usually timid in the face of danger, but has a temper to make up for it. Though, he is more observing than Rynk is at times and tries to persuade him to keep away from danger when he attempts to jump into the thick of it, he understands his will to help people when they need it—though he wishes he wasn’t so determined with some things. Although at times Moggar seems to be quite clumsy, and the fact that moogles aren’t really strong enough on their own to exert much physical strength and he is unable to cast any powerful magic, Rynk considers him to be a valuable ally and one of his closest friends.
Interests/Items/Misc.
Rynk, in addition to being a decently skilled ranch-hand, has also developed a small skill in playing the flute and sketching images from his memory. Though he is not a master in either skill, he seems to practice one or the other when he has the chance, and they usually come out in a decent clarity.
On his adventures, Rynk is sure to carry some essential with him. A black, durable flip-up cell phone is one; he usually calls his parents back home every few days or so, so they don’t worry so much about him. He also carries a small collapsible metal flute, as well as his Adventurer’s license; as well as usually a small amount of Gil that he periodically receives from his parents via “Mognet”. Moggar, who totes a small messenger bag with him, carries a small supply of potions and medicine with him, as well as items such as maps, a compass, and flint stones.
