Centuries had passed since the cataclysm that had occured on the remote planet whose inhabitants were once part of a far off star. Those of both human descent and others of unknown origin to the humans falling into the category of "legend" or "myth". Creatures or should we say beings of unknown abilities living amongst us now, as if they belonged there. Some humans live with these legendary figures while others cannot forget the great apocalypse that nearly befell the world both our kinds now call home. And yet, the powers in charge decided to pass laws enforcing the human rights act to protect themselves from the "demons" as they had been labelled. Those of us who know the beauracracy on this world know it was done out of fear of the "demonoids" as scientists prefer to call them. A special task force was established to enforce these laws though they themselves break them for the laws were also meant to protect the demonoids from human prejudice as well. In the capital city of Largos, the "Night Troup", as they are now called protect the citizens from the demonoid citizens and arrest them. Confining them in the "Colosseum" until time for thier hearings. Yet this in itself is a contradiction, the higher ups use the Colosseum for thier own personal entertainment for they see themselves as better than the demonoids. Most demonoids are given fair trials and release later, but those who are saw as a threat to the order of things or that are too powerful or influencial are sent to the Colosseum. Should a demonoid be sent here, it is almost the equivalent of a death sentence. One such has come into my keeping, a young man from the looks of him yet he bears a scar on the left side of his face through his left eye. It is a wonder he was not blinded by that strike for after examination it was brought to light that his sight is unhindered. As well, looking through his X-rays it was found that his skeletal structure is harder than most humans yet he bears human DNA as the blood work says. A demonoid/human hybrid? This in its own right is a contradiction for studies show that demonoid and human DNA are incompatable. Yet of each of the subjects brought in, a few of the others bare the same traits as he. This is why they are sent here, to fight amongst each other and die. For they are a new stage of evolution, yet where it leads I cannot say. However, the boy I mentioned doesn't seem to be a threat unless provoked. He rarely speaks and only moves in self defense. Unlike others he has yet to show any demonoid abilities amonst his fights, and most oddly enough he has not even attemtped to slay any of his opponents. So far he is undefeated, this evening he has a match against several opponents and from the data I have recieved on the incoming "guests" as they call them, there are several that look as if they match the boy's genetic code. A cross of demonoid and human DNA, yet difficult to tell from sight. I pray that he can come out of this alive and unscathed, and I will do everything I can to get these people out for they hold a secret withing thier blood that might be the key to having our society evolve into a better world... *End Log* (This is going to get interesting. )

Zyphan struggled against the binds that held her wings to her back, but there was nothing she could to. With her hands bound in heat-producing gloves and the guards watching her constantly, there was no hope of escape. She would have to ride out the journey in bitter silence, just like two others that were with her, though one was unconcious, and the other doped up.
She didn't know where they were going, and it frightened her. For months, she had been locked up in a cell full of everything that produced heat, which frustrated her to no end. A hole in the door produced food, and there were basic essentials to life, but that was all.
Looking back to the day they took her, wrapping her in a heated, thermal blanket, she knew it was useless to keep trying. They would surely kill her, or make a biological experiment out of her, or something. Something horrible.
A thump brought her back to the present, and she strained to see out the window, catching a glimpse of city life before the guard pushed her roughly back to the floor. "Stay down, you." Zyphan obeyed, and it wasn't long before their vehicle came to a halt and she heard men moving around outside.
"Alright, get them out of there. Watch the big one, though. Whatever you do, don't wake him up." She heard the commanding voice of the General, who had been there since the day she was captured, watching everything with eyes like a hawk. "Snap to it, men! What are you waiting for?!" The last command he belted out, and everyone jumped.
Just as the back doors opened, a hood was thrown over Zyphan's head, and a heady scent sent her senses reeling, and she blacked out. ----------------------- General Jorgen watched as his cargo was carefully unloaded into the Colosseum. He had never participated in an event such as this, but he had been itching to, and now he had the perfect chance. With three new demons, especially the ice one, in the arena, Jorgen was sure there was no way that champion could win.
Marching inside, each demonoid was placed into his or her own cell, though the ice-one had a special one, full of heat that would keep her manageable.
Once the deed was done, he and his men left the building, leaving Zyphan and the other two to the Colosseum.
[[ the other two are just space fillers. the one that is knocked out is like taking the Hulk and mixing him with flame boy and rock man from Fantastic Four. But he's about 6.5ft tall; more stocky that anything. The other one is a mental faerie, who messes with illusions and whatnot. hope it's okay that i did that. ]]

"YOU BASTAGES!! LET ME OUT!!!! YOU ARE ALL GETTING FIRED WHEN I GET OUT OF HERE!!! I HAVE LAWYERS, YOU KNOW?!?"
That's what it was supposed to sound like, at least, but through the gag it was severely muffled. This was Almaa'raska, or simply Alma to those that knew her. Alma had been having a good day, until a bunch of nuts had her arrested on some bogus charge and tossed in here. This was not where Alma belonged - no, she belonged on stage, with her band, playing the same tired old numbers that she could play single-handedly if her agent would let her.
Speaking of that slimy jerk, he was probably the one that had turned her in. They had never been on good terms, but until recently, they'd done their respective parts and tried hard to stay out of each other's hair. Until two nights ago, when she mouthed off to him over a contract, and the fact that all her songs had been played in at least twelve other separate venues before, and that she was bored with everything. They left on bad terms, and... yeah, she was here.
Lesee... bound with handcuffs and somewhat gagged, dark room that smelled like crusty ass and nuggets or something like that, small beeping choke collar that kept her voice from reaching octaves that would be painful to other beings... yep, this was officially Hell. At least they left her guitar within view, but outside of her reach. Shame, really, because she could use some entertainment right now.
Outside, she could hear a detached conversation going on, but a few words caught her ears: "You aren't worried?! What if someone recognizes her? You know how popular these tween stars are." "Hah! After they announce her status and who she really is, there won't be a fan left. There ain't a thing to worry about. 'Sides, I heard she can put up a real nasty fight when things come down. It'll be interesting - hell, prolly even fun - to see her get messed up real good by that freak they keep around- wha'd they call it again.... the Helldog?" "Hellhound, stupid! And I for one don't really like that stuff. I just do my job and go home. Those fights aren't easy on my stomach, even if he hasn't really killed anyone yet." "Pff! Wha'dya expect when ya signed up? Fruit baskets and full compliance?!" "No, but I didn't expect this! I mean, look at her! She's not even half as frightening as most of the freaks we've let loose. Hell, she could barely even move when she was arrested! Easiest take-down we've had in a long time." "Whatever. Besides, her voice was just another recycled vocal. They could replace her with an android an' no one would notice. Completely a fad." "Still, I don't like this. Yeah, she's one of them, but she ain't dangerous. Only thing scary about her is that voice of hers. Hell, that computer thingy we took off of her barely runs! I'm amazed she can get anything out of it, let alone keep it in running order..."
The talking went on and on, running through several topics ranging from wives and children to the weather. Once she got bored of it all, Alma sulked back into her prison cell seat. The room she had been thrown into was barely big enough to qualify as a closet; she had to prop her feet up against the door just to get enough room to stretch, and every time she did some a**hole came by and whacked her on the leg.
Oh well... so what was next? Was she really going to meet this Hellhound guy? Maybe she'd beg for mercy or something, but she wasn't going to fight. That was just stupid. Besides, with her hands in cuffs, her voice all but knocked out, her M-MPU personal wrist-mounted computer somewhere out of sight, her backpack confiscated, and her guitar out of reach, what could she do?
*he doesn't kill peopel... stupidstupidstupid ><!! *slaps self repeatedly* *

The Hellhound's eyes opened as if on que as the doctor who had been caring for him after each fight came into the room. His own name had once almost been forgotten to him and he had almost been lost the sea of darkness within his own heart after that fateful battle so many years ago. Now it was nothing more than a far off memory to him, almost as if it were a dream seen through someone else's eyes.
He touched his face gingerly where another fight had reopened the scar on the left side of his face. It had penetrated his iris and he had been almost blinded and would be in that eye if not for this man. Thanks to his expert care, he had managed to save his left eye yet there had been a "change in pigment" as the doctor called it. His left eye which had once been green was now a deep golden yellow.
"Hellhound," the doctor said as he made sure that the guards were well away from the cell,"Tonight you have another fight, but I do not see it boding well for you my friend."
There was a tinge of worry in his voice as he looked over the "champion" of the Colosseum. Reinos remembered his name but he has rarely spoken and the doctor never presses his however this night he figured he had to speak.
"Why do you sound worry old man," he said sitting up on his sparce bunk, clad in gray pants and a black shirt marking him as a prisoner. He was one of the few who wore the garb because few rarely stayed long enough to need a change of clothes. You either left quickly after your hearing or you never left at all.
"They brought in some new prisoners this evening, they do not look strong...but they all look as human as you save one other. A blue winged creature.."
Reinos' left eye flashed for a second,"A blue winged one?" he asked for a moment.
"Does he have any abilities?" he asked almost earnestly. The doctor nodded as Reinos thought,"Ice right?" he said again and the doctor looked at him perplexed.
"How do you know this, and it is a she..." the doctor said...Reinos looked a little taken aback learning it was a female.
"An ice phoenix I think, they are rare among the "demonoid" kind. Namely because they do not fall under the classification demonoid," the doctor nodded having come to that conclusion.
Reinos shut his mouth as he heard the guards coming down the metal hallway choosing to revert to silence.
"Listen, she is one of your opponent's this evening as well as 3 others with her to my knowledge. There may be more, do not underestimate them. At least try and escape tonight, after all you have been through you deserve it...and so do those prisoners...one of them is a high profile singer for the Light's sake," the doctor rambled in a rush as Reinos growled quickly.
"Come on mutt, time to earn your keep," said one of the Night Troup entering the cell. Reinos held his hands out and allowed himself to be cuffed. The manacles were average, easily able to restrain a human. None of the guards save a few new Reinos' true strength. He only allowed it because he knew it made them feel secure.
The doctor hushed as Reinos was escorted out the door and down the hall of cells holding the new prisoners. He was always kept here and marched down it to intimidate the new ones. Reinos smelled others, new blood as it were and smile his front fangs partially showing. He smelled the old blood, like his own. The phoenix, something almost as old and he swore he could smell another canine. Tonight, he would show his would be captors why he let them call him HELLHOUND....

Roxy paced the small area of her cell. She never thought this day would come... But they finally caught her. She'd been so careful, taking all precautions, but it happened.
She knew that heist was too good to be true, but it was also too good to pass up. That jewel had been one of the biggest shed ever seen and the richest shade of red... She wasnt even sure they had a proper name for it, but she knew she had to get it. Everything seemed to be going normal, she had scoped out the building, found the nest entrance and several exits, the. Studied the guards routines for days till she knew it by heart... Then she struck! She was in the building and by the gem faster than anyone probably could've anticipated, the guards were switching and she had all the time. She had guessed that the gem would be under heavily security, and she was right, but she wasn't able to figure it all out... She was able to guess the usual laser wires, glass case and that it was on a special podium that recognised the weight of the gem... And she was able to get all that... Roxy didnt know what happened! She bad it in her had and back tracked to avoid any traps and suddenly there were guards everywhere... Her only guess now would be that the gem had been tampered with... It's possible the entire thing was a trap...
She put up a helluva a fight and took out a few guards, but there were too many, and when she felt the gun at the back of her head, she knew to stop... Now she had to wait, she'd find her time to escape... No one kept Roxy, the best thief probably EVER, locked up.
What she didn't expect though was to be taken to the colosseum... She hadn't thought anyone knew... Apparently atleast one person did... This really threw a wrench into her plans... But she wasn't about to stop plotting her escape... The only problem though was the three guards outside her cell pointing guns at her, they stopped her from escaping... For now, but once she was taken out to fight the whoever else... Then she'd make her amazing escape.

Reinos had closed his senses as he had passed through the hallway. He hated sensing the fear and anger from the other prisoners and seeing as he was the current "champion" most times it was always directed his way. Very few of the arrivals knew that he had never killed his opponents in his fights.
Yet now he stood in the center of the pavilion underneath the stands watching the sunset slowly over the western wall. The shadows lengthing and making the stadium darker. He always felt comfortable in the darkness, knowing he is hid and protected by the shadows.
Slowly he made his way to the center of the sandy floor, his hands now unbound as he closed his eyes and awaited his next opponent's praying from deep within one of them would have the ingenuity to try an escape from this place and create the diversion he needed to free them all.........

When it was time to enter the colosseum, the guards opened her cell and ushered her forward, not getting close enough so she could attack, but not letting her get far.
It was a quiet walk and Roxy took in all the sights, looking for any weaknesses that would allow her to get out. She just had to make sure she'd have the time to make her escape, she mostly wanted the time to think, hoping the battle would be easily avoidable... It was a major bother having to plan an escape while fighting for your life...

Zyphan woke up on a thin mattress in a small prison cell, and immediately went to the door, only to be pushed back by the guards. Her hands were still bound, but were wings were not, and for once she could open them a little, which felt amazing after their long-term confinement to her back.
She could feel something in the air, though it drove her nuts because she couldn't place it, and it confused her. For hours it seemed, the ice phoenix paced her small cell, until the rattle of keys at her door sent her scurrying to the corner. The guard walked in and grabbed her arm, carefree of how he treated her, and shoved her down the hall. "Let's get a move-on, girlie." Five other guards stood outside, and she noticed they all wore small flamethrowers aside from the normal weaponry.
Sighing, she did as she was told, passing many other cells similar to hers. It did not click to her where she was, however, until the heated gloves and all other restraints were taken fully from her and she was pushed out onto the sandy floor of the Colosseum, her beloved sword in hand.
"Oh sh**...." Were the only words that came out of her mouth as she spotted the shadowy figure in the center of the arena. She knew who he was, and she knew what he was capable of.
The Hellhound....

No use... there wasn't any point in wasting her breath anymore. Sulking back into her bunk, Alma almost fell asleep until she was jerked awake by a careless hand that had her by the cuffs, yanking her onto her feet stumbling from her cell. Amidst yells and swears, she managed to figure out that she was heading towards a brighter light than was there before. The stench of blood, however, told her that it wasn't freedom she was heading to...
Before she knew what was happening, the guard sidestepped her, tossing her out into open air, letting her fall to her feet before standing over her to take the cuffs and restrainer off... along with a heavy hand over her mouth and plugs to keep her hypnotic scream out of his ears. Just before the door shut behind Alma, her wound-up guitar clanked down flat next to her, along with her arm-mounted computer. Clutching these while spitting out dust, she looked around her, dazed by the light, and the... cheering crowd?
Was this a big party? Alma didn't know she was finally getting the chance to play for a crowd! Not that she was horribly awesome or anything, but certainly better than half the nitwits who picked up the strings in the past century! However, a few things seemed off... like the huge pulsing net over the very top of the stadium, and the fact that there was no stage, or roadies, or... hell, anything a normal show would have. And what was up with the drab look of the bouncers, and why did they have... guns...? And who was the big mofo standing in the middle...
Slowly, her mind processed the facts, and came to the conclusion that, perhaps, just maybe, she had gone from the frying pan and into the fire... the fires of Hades itself, for that matter. That, and the fact that the crowd seemed less afixed upon her and more upon the figure in the Coliseum's center... That did not bode well. Alma elected to hide up against the nearest wall, strapping on her little computer (for what good that would do her) and holding the shield in front of her, praying to the gods of Rock and Roll that this wouldn't mess up her clothes...
Hey, they were designers! Dis s**t ain't cheap, ya know?!

Roxy got out to the arena, the guards giving her a shove with the butts of their guns and then she was on her own out here... She saw a couple other people out there, but paid them no heed, keeping note of where they were and what they were doing, but focusing more on the actual arena. She wanted to find a weak point, something that would make her escape easy....
So far this was gonna prove to be less than easy...

The doctor watched on the monitors as each of the young women were shoved into the stadium floor. He was glad that he had stopped administering that ridiculous serum that had kept him from forming coherent thoughts some time ago...yet now as he watched he started to think that perhaps the Hellhound was still feeling some lingering effects as yet he hadn't moved...
Reinos looked at each of the new challengers, or guests one after the other. He was afforded some privileges every now and again and he knew the one with the guitar to be a musician...one he actually liked. The first one to come out had been the one that the doctor had so kindly informed him of, yet that sword in her hand made it apparent she wasn't one to be trifled with easily.
And finally came the last, when Reinos laid eyes on this one his blood starting feeling like it was boiling in its veins yet he kept his composure.
'Why does this one stand out from the other two?' he thought as he looked at the others slowly realizing that each held something within them that commanded respects.
"Yet humans fear what they cannot control or comprehend," he whispered to himself as he made the first move. In a flash he was before the musician, his left yellow eye looking inside hers.
He smiled as he spoke,"If you want to live, I suggest you stop hiding what you are."
Next he was beside the blue one with the sword cautious of her,"You came prepared, very admirable yet are you prepared enough for what is to come.." he said having been standing behind her standing back to back.
Finally his speed took him to stand beside the last to arrive with no hint of malice in his voice yet with caution as he felt he knew her from her appearance some where,"I don't know what you are, but you better be prepared to die today if you want to live."
In an instant the farside of the Colosseum walls seemed to melt away...small gates opening up as animalistic growls and roars came from deep within the shadows of the tunnels revealed.
The doctor watched as it seemed to him that Hellhound had teleported to each challenger in particular...he could tell he was speaking with them. Yet what about?
Reinos slowly stepped out from beside the redheaded woman and took a deep breath slowly turning around and looking at each in turn.
"If you want to live, follow my lead.." he said his eyes flashing blue and to the astonishment of the crowd he raised his arm as he extended his boneblade that had hid as part of his skeleton just as a horde of monstrous creatures to horrid to imagine flooded from the tunnels......

Roxy was confused by this guy, not even sure who he was completely, she just knew the name Hellhound...
She didn't get long to think before the growls started, sending a shiver down her spine. Her stance got stiffer as she watched the... monsters rush out of the tunnels... this was definitely not a good way to start her escape plan... but... the man who'd talked to them seemed to have some kind of an idea... maybe he'd be useful.
The creatures rushed forward and Roxy couldn't afford to stay still. She was swiftly attacked, but easily dodged, moving faster than any... NORMAL human could... but like withe the guards, her enemy had the advantage of numbers, and that's what caused a conflict with her evasion. She took a few on hand to hand, even taking out a knife to slice at a few, but she knew that there were just gonna be too many to get out completely unscathed...

Zyphan bristled as she felt him behind her, though she did not attack. His words confused her, but as he did not attack her, she decided maybe something else was going on here. That, and she had sensed a difference in him, something that made her wonder- was he more than just a demonoid thing like so many others that got thrown in here?
She watched him visit the others that had gotten thrown in with her, and wondered what he had said, but her thoughts were quickly dismissed as growls and snarls came from the other side of the arena. With her hands free, Zyphan tied her sword's scabbard between her pinions, and rose in the air, being careful of the giant net above. There was no way she was going to deal with these things hand-to-hand.
Waving her hands one way, and then another, she froze about ten of her attackers, leaving the ground covered in blue ice. Zyphan went about like this for a while from the air, until the attackers below got smart, and one of them came at her through the air to land on her back, and she fell to the ground, where she was attacked from all sides.
Struggling to get up, she sent out a blast of wind, and sent them flying, although she only had enough time to pull out her sword before they were on her again, and she was forced to defend herself on foot.
She had no idea how the others were faring, and she didn't entirely care. She just wanted to survive and get back to the freedom of the skies.

*quick note: I'll just provide links to the songs... would like to post them but it takes up quite a bit of space, and Youtube has nasty habit of adding adds to the sidelines -.- the name of the song is on the URL label, just for easy reference* "OOOOH MYYYY GOOOOO-" Alma's panicked cry was lost in the foreground noise as horrifying creatures rushed forth from the tunnels opposite her. She didn't know what was going on, who was coming after her, or why, but she did know she didn't want to die. Not like this. The Hellhound's sudden movements towards her didn't help to calm her down one bit; in fact, she almost screamed just from that. Nor did his words reach her at the moment. More or less, he just made her panic even more. But d**n it all to hell, I'm a lover, not a fighter! she reminded herself, completely unsure of what to do. Her fighting skills consisted of slamming a guitar into anything that moved threateningly at her, when she had the guts to. Right now, even that wasn't in her. Whimpering, she crouched as far behind her "shield" as she could, trying to appear as unassuming as possible. Unfortunately for Alma, her posture and attitude made her more of a magnet than an invisible element. Needless to say, a good deal of them ran straight for her, sensing an easy meal. She was alone - truly alone - even moreso than when she had first run away from home. Hardly knowing what to do, it didn't even register with her that the marks on her arms, which she covered almost all the time, were beginning to glow, her skin turning dark around those areas. Had she not been so preoccupied, Alma would also have noticed that she herself was beginning to... change. It was only when she heard a whisper from somewhere behind her that she began to take note, but by then, it was too late... The first of the creatures reached her, grabbing her by the neck with... whatever that was - could've been it's naughty bits for all anyone knew - when the air erupted in an ear-piercing scream that was almost viable, nearly physical, shoving the creature and whatever others were there back, and undoubtedly making more than one of them deaf. By the time they had recovered, Almaa'raska was not herself; in her place was something close to her physical stature, with an appearance that was no better than the creatures it faced.
No words were spoken at first, the closest thing being a cackling laugh before extending the guitar to it's full length, the "strings" crackling to live, uttering a sound that had not been heard in even the most distant memories of this world once her fingers made contact...
Each tone vibrated the ground around her slightly, kicking up dust as well as keeping most of the freakish things away from her; however, it seemed that, although they were keeping their distance for the time being, more and more of them were drawn to the spectacle... up until the point where lightning bolts crackled from her body, building like static around her. The first creature to step in to attack her directly again was struck in the face with an arch of electricity - the others weren't much brighter, but they had the numbers game advantage. And although not immediately clear, Alma's little show couldn't last forever - even in this state, she wasn't built to withstand physical violence nor any sort of bodily harm... One well-placed strike would do it, as was demonstrated by a lucky... thing that managed to break through, lobbing a decent punch into her midsection to send the woman flying into the wall - but only after taking several shocks, after which it collapsed, dead.
This obviously cut the song short, and before long the freaks were on top of Almaa'raska, though their plans to tear her apart were complicated by the fact that her hair was like acid, burning anything that touched it. Their assault didn't stop her from screaming again, this time with enough force to knock them back a decent distance, rupturing eardrums and even stopping the heart of one or two of the monsters. Still, the musical magi didn't have much else to go on for now. Finally, the real Alma was fighting for control of herself again, something that would leave her vulnerable if she succeeded...*hope that works >.< assuming the others are a fair distance apart, her scream and such will likely only give them a light headache... if this doesn't work just tell me >.>*

Reinos fell back as they rushed him from the tunnels along with the others. He slasshed and clawed and even bit into them finally getting it into his head that he could at least maim as his boneblades started slashing limps off each lost demonoid bit by bit until he saw the phoenix fly and get brought back down hard to the ground.
He tried to break through the chaos but even he thought he might have to transform at this rate and then he heard it...and old song from long ago but one that got his blood pumping and tore through the demonoids. The music was obviously affecting them severely, glad he was in human form he broke through and got to the phoenix tearing them away from her so she could get her bearings.
"IF YOU CAN HEAR ME TRANSFORM!!! JUST STAY AWAY FROM THE GIRL!!!" he screamed as he let his own form shift upon itself his eyes glowing blue and mist covering his form until he stood there baring his fangs at the other demonoids, not letting a single one get near the phoenix....
