Galius laid there for a while before rolling back over. It seemed they had got the message. He fell asleep as the other man when to go get firewood. If he was awakened by anything threatening, they were in for a rude awakening themselves, as he had trained himself to phase shift from sleep, making him hard to assassinate...

The piece was devoured without hesitation, disappearing as Nalti swiftly and discretely ate the portion she was given. Nalti took a sip from the water-filled pack, then laid down herself, the demon giving her a headrest once more as she waited for Cross to return. For whatever reason, she didn't really feel tired right now, something unusual for her; though it might, in part, be due to all that had happened recently, especially concerning the shoes. She still wondered why he was being so nice to her, and if that would sometime later come back to annoy her. There was a price for everything, she knew; one of the reasons she never really accepted help from others...
That man... so much anger Nalti sensed from him, but something deeper she also felt, far below the surface- a pain, the pain of being alone, of being despised by others and never knowing why. Or was she merely seeing a reflection of herself? That thought, above all others, frightened her very much.

Cross came back soon enough with enough wood to last through the night. He placed the branches near the fire and threw some in the fire to keep it going. He turned to face Nalti and saw that she had finished the meat and was drinking water. He continued to watch quietly as she then went on to lie down. He walked to a side, still staying on the same side of the fire.
He sat down again and fell into his medetative slumber, the whipblades coming out on their own and contiuing with their slow and restful motion around him. He got up to his feet twice during the night to add fuel to the fire and check up that the young woman was still asleep.

Nalti couldn't sleep. No matter how hard she tried, it just wouldn't come to her. She tossed and turned several times, but not once did she really drift off. Too many questions and too few answers kept her awake. By morning, the young woman had given up, feeling horrible at that point.
Deprivation left her crankier and more tired than usual, her body refusing motion now that she had to move. It didn't help that her legs were stiff and her back hurt. Put shortly, Nalti was a mess, her hair a clotted mess and her attitude twice as so. When prodded by Izuket, she swatted him away, growling wearily "Just butt off, will ya? I'm pooped still..." Maybe her feet were causing her pain because they were still not used to being padded as they were now, or maybe it was just a bad night she'd had. Whatever the reason, Nalti would have to live with it, and move her arse sometime soon.

Waking as the dawn broke, Galius rolled to his feet and looked around, the eagle Typhon nowhere to be seen. Galius waited for a minute, looking down at the meditating man and the girl that was trying to sleep. He looked at the fire that was starting to dwindle and kicked a few pieces of wood onto it, the embers that kicked up went directly toward the young woman lying on the other side of the fire. Galius didn't even flinch, for he didn't care about her nor for her. The fire kicked back up, only barely. He nearly put it out by kicking the wood onto the fire. Oddly enough, in the cool of the morning, he had no reason to keep the fire going, as he planned to move. He wondered why he kicked the wood on the fire for a moment before Typhon screamed from the sky with a fish in his claws. The fish was large enough for everyone there, including the bird. So, Galius cut it in two, throwing one to the bird, and then cutting the other piece in half, then in half again. he threw it next to the fire on the ground. He kept one piece for himself, and ate it raw, scales and all. He spat out bone as he went.
Once he had eaten his fill, he tossed what remained on the fire, and began walking along the water. He would continue his trek. If Warric was right, he would know where to go to find the information he was searching for, and once he found it, he hoped he would never feel this confusion again. He wanted to kill both of them, just for bother him, just for the hell of it, but he refused to. Perhaps, he wondered to himself, killing Warric had done more to him than he thought. Or maybe... Bernie... Eve... Foreman... No... He was not getting soft...
Galius shook his head. He wanted to know what the hell was wrong with him. He suppressed his urge to kill to survive at Bernie's. But now he had no reason to suppress it, and he still was... What had changed?

He heard what the girl had said. It seemed she hadn't been able to sleep well through the night. He opened the black pits that were his eyes and looked back at Nalti. The whips were retreating back into his back as he came out of his meditation. He got up and turned towards the girl. "We can go slower if you like but we should keep moving."

She didn't want to get up. Period. Still, she forced her body to respond, rolling over but still groaning quite a bit in reluctance, the embers having died out before they could catch anything but still leaving their ashy scent upon her clothing. "Ugh..... do we hav'ta?" she managed to protest, very irritable about having to move again. That was, until she caught whiff of something that made her stomach growl. "Ohh... not you too" she moaned, finally relenting to hunger, sitting up as she turned to find out what that scent was.
Led by her nose, she eventually found the piece of fish, which had partially cooked from being left near the fire. It was rather large, but so was her stomach; it growled again, louder this time, in response to the smell. Her mind had ascertained that it was fish, and over the next few minutes she used her hands and teeth to pick out the tiny bones here and there, and then proceeded to eat whatever was left. Finished, she laid what was left on the smoldering embers, then turned her head in the general direction of Cross and inquired "Where're we going anyhow? You've got some place in mind?"

Cross watched quietly as she protested then led herself to the fish the man had thrown near the fire. She was still hungry it seems. He waited, watching the surroundings carefully for any sign of danger and also to figure out where to go. When she asked him as much, he spoke, "Yes, we should follow this river. There has to be a settlement close by on the shore. Are you ready now?"
He knew this probably meant they would be following the man since he seemed to have headed in the same direction he was planning to go. He wondered how would the man react when he realized the same thing.

*guess we're not going in order :\ and don't blame me for all of this, i don't really have anything to add >.>*
"I guess..." Nalti moaned as she pushed herself to her feet, sliding the walking cane upright as she picked up the remaining supplies with her, clutching the lute close even though it was strapped over her opposite shoulder. Her feet ached a bit still, but she ignored them. One arm found a niche in Cross's, and before he could object, Nalti had crooked her elbow in his (albeit in the wrong direction). Looking up to him, she smiled lightly, quirking "Shall we?" in a mildly playful manner.
