He was taken aback by the question. "Waste my time? I am just interested to get to know you. In my view, thats not a waste of time...", he paused at the sudden onset of his ability kicked in. He thought he 'read' something inaudible from someone far away from his location and then much more clearly another simple statement.
He suddenly grinned and thought of surprising the girl who seemed to be extremely frustrated right now, "You know there is no such thing as 'cooties'..."

"Yeah, I was pretty much looking for a new tree to hang out in....You wouldn't happen to know about one, would you? I want to take a nap...." He just started looking up, not really paying attention to his feet anymore. "None of them look like I can take a nap without falling out..."

*there we go ;D! sry bout that...*
Meredeth thought about casually tripping him again, but decided that pulling the same prank twice in a row would make him too suspicious of her. No need taking unnecessary steps when they weren't worth the risk. "I know of several trees like that in the forest" she insisted, looking towards the treeline. True enough, but a few were impossible for humans to reach without sufficient protection, as they laid deep within the forest, where the worst of the bad and the strangest of the bizarre existed. She herself had been to one of them only once, and had heard of the other from her parents.
But the one that would be easiest to reach was too close for comfort. No, she couldn't take him there... that would risk having her dwelling found, and if humans tread there... oh how mother would throw a fit. Filthy, silly, dummy humans, treading upon such ground... no no, that would not do at all.
There was the one by the river, but the sprites liked to play there, and they were always shy of humans. Things could get ugly should he happen there... And then there was that one. Yes, that would do perfectly; it was in a secluded but open section, but not too far in where those dangerous ones laid. Plus, there was the spring there, and at this time of day there was, or rather, shouldn't be, anyone there.
"But really, there is one that's easier to get to" she continued almost unabated, having thought all of this through in a moment's time, "It is a bit of a ways in, but should not be too difficult to reach, even though it lies off the beaten path, as hu- they say." It was a momentary lapse of tongue, but she caught herself before blurting anything foolish. The mischievous look she usually carried was gone for the time being, replaced by a normal child's eyes, those that looked at you as if they just wanted to jump right on you and cling to you like a rogue glue stick. “This way” she beaconed, pointing at a right diagonal into the wood, slipping forward with eerie ease, almost as if there wasn’t a branch or blade of grass in her way…

He glanced down curiously at her slip of the tongue. As what? Humans? "Well....Alright. Going to be easier than looking for it myself." He said, walking through and not really caring what he stepped on, despite the fact that he was barefoot. Most people would likely be yelping and complaining, but he was used to it. Once they arrived he looked up, wondering about where he would be able to sleep. It was a tad bigger than the usual trees, but that wasn't really a problem.
He jumped the first eight or so feet to the first branch in the tree before hopping from branch to branch looking for the best spot. He eventually found a good spot near the middle and just laid down without another word to the girl on the ground. His back was to the tree and the rest of him were along the branch, partially held in place by some other branches, that spread away from the one he was sitting on. He thought he felt something watching him but reasoned it was the girl...."Oh, right...Thanks for helping me find the spot...." He shouted to the bottom.

Breathing a sigh of relief when he hadn't seemed to notice the slip-up, Meredeth waited for him to catch up. Thankfully, as she surmised, the spring was clear of populace, so there wouldn't be any conflicts. However, his total lack of manners had put her off quite a bit, so much so that Meredeth was about to leave him here when he finally acknowledged her existence. "You're welcome" she grumbled, more than put off by his current ignorance.

(Alright back, I didn't mean to slow this RP down, I'm really sorry.) Fadora gave him a questionable look, "Ermm, why do you mention cooties?" She made sure she was stable before she wandered on up the hill, occasionally tipping, but catching herself.
(sorry for making it so small.)

He kept smiling, finally taking a gentle hold of her arm to help her up the slope, "You thought of it... thats why." He left the rest for her to figure out.
((Uh, smaller, sorry ))

Griff was about to fall asleep before he felt something give him a big push. He looked to the ground that was rushing to meet him and screamed before hitting with a dull thud. He laid there groaning for a moment before he stopped doing anything. Just sitting there rather corpse like.....

*i guess x-x*
Turning around at the sound, Meredeth saw Griff just as he hit the ground. Confused, she looked up but didn't see anything; that didn't mean that there wasn't anything there... walking about the tree, she found the source, which quickly darted out of view. Unsure of who it was, she followed the being, only to be led off somewhere with no one around. Turning back, Meredeth panicked; Griff was gone.

Fadora blinked up at him, then shook her head, many strange things happened here, but you usually didn't come face to face with a strange being. "Excuse me? Did I hear that right?" She stoped at the top of the hill, awaiting patiently for his response. Something reasonable had to have happened, maybe she spoke out loud without noticing? Maybe it was just legible on her face? One thing was for sure.. if it really was strange, her grandma would have a fit. Fadora could see it now.. 'You finally make some friends and they are no better than wandering into that dark forest? What is wrong with you Fadora? Can't you get anything right?' Her grandma would be very displeased.
She looked back up to the boy again, quite suspicious as to why he even decided to talk to her, just because she was alone, didn't mean she was unique. She looked up towards the trees and noticed the sky.. it was beginning to dull in blue and was becoming a darker, more mystic colour, but slowly it happened.

He let go of her hand as they came over the slope. He just smiled and but didn't say anything. He looked up at the sky and frowned. "I think its about to rain. We both should get going. You want me to come with you to make sure you don't run into any more chickens?", he asked this with a straight face.

Griff groaned as he started to wake up. His vision was blurred and he couldn't see anything, but it was more than a little disturbing when he heard the voices speaking in some strange language. When his vision cleared he saw he was tied up at a campsite, and several....huh? What the hell? Goblins? "No way..." He was still in the forest, but a much deeper part. He practically blinked and there was suddenly one right in his face. Griff screamed and soon started a chain reaction, where the goblin in his face screamed, and the goblins at the campfire jumped and whirled with makeshift weapons shouting jiberish. Griff fell over again in shock.

Meredeth heard the scream, but where was it coming from? This forest played tricks, even upon the ears of one who knew better. She listened for more, but none were heard. Was that Griff's voice? No, it couldn't be... he surely had gone home by now. Things around here were getting weird, even by her standards.
Deciding that looking deeper just to be sure was better than not, Meredeth wandered in towards the center, following a scentless trail that she thought would lead her to the source. It looked like something heavy but not too much so had been dragged through there, perhaps a human's body- She shook the thought before it went any further and continued on. Best no to think of the worst before it happened, or it just might...
