*Fast forward one day*
"All right," Seth said to the members of SpecOps Binary standing, sitting or, in some cases, slouching in the briefing room. "For those who haven't been introduced to him yet, this is our new computer expert, Mechwarrior Alexander. He will be responsible for bypassing the enemy's electronic security measures on this op." Seth indicated the hacker with an index finger, then went around the room pointing out and naming the other members of the unit.
OOC: There'll be NPCs appearing to fill the roles we still need, for example medical officer. We can kill them off if someone comes into the RP later with a desire to fill that particular role... if the NPCs become important I'll post character profiles for them.)
"Our mission is to sabotage the enemy 'Mechs in this hangar. The degree of sabotage should blow up the hangar as well, so yes we are talking about explosives." Seth pointed to the holoprojector map of the theater of operations. "This ridge right here has good cover and is within sniping range of the hangar. I'm going to have Vincent set up there so he can keep infantry and light vehicles off our backs. The Janitor will be slightly further off, but within range to strike very quickly when we call him in. I assume, from the amount of vehicles guarding the hangar, that we will indeed need his services."
Seth turned to the Janitor. "Try not to vaporize us, please," he said, with a friendly smile to let the pilot know he was joking. Then he continued with the briefing. "While in the hangar, choose yourself an enemy 'Mech... we're each going to be stealing one and piloting it back to our base. Vincent, I'll call you into the hangar in time for you to get yourself a 'Mech too... we don't have enough explosive charges -- or enough time to lay them before the hangar blows -- to sabotage each 'Mech individually, so there'll be plenty of them for you to choose from. We'll be placing the explosives in the engine or weapons compartments, the places that make the biggest bang. The resulting splash damage should level most of the enemy structures in the immediate area, and may damage our stolen 'Mechs as well if we don't get out fast enough. Any questions?"
