This is my character and is also the elf that is mentioned in the intro on the rpg discussions board
.....Name: Talin Varda
.....Age: 123
.....Race: Elf
.....Weapon(s): Twin scimitars sheathed at his hip and a enchanted elven bow named Halfast, etched with lines of silver and gold which he can call to his grasp with only a thought
.....Style of fighting: Dexterous and acrobatic melee skills as well as expert marksmanship with his bow
.....Alignment (Good or Evil?): He has a good heart, and tries his best to do what he deems right
.....Personality: Talin is a good natured, quiet elf that has learned much in his time spent in this world. He is both wise and strong, and likes to keep to himself. He is very adventurous, and is fascinated with magic, and especially magical items.
.....Appearance: Talin is a handsome elf by all standards, though not very social. His shoulder length, black hair contrasts greatly with his intense, green-hued eyes. His face holds soft features, for he is still young by an elf’s measure. He is usually found wearing his dark leather armor, that’s decoratively laced with green and gold. He wears a belt holding his twin blades at his hips and a chain of silver adorned his neck, with his bow strapped and folded at his back. His body holds many scars from the countless battles of his time, though he rarely takes his armor off other than to rest.
.....Short history: Talin left the home of his elf kin long ago in search of adventure and, more importantly, riches. He is not a greedy elf, but loves magical items and the thrill of finding a new one. He was trained for many years in the art of combat before he set out and is quite formidable, obviously so seeing as he has lived through more than a century of countless adventures and battles. Talin is always looking for a new road to travel or battle to fight, as long as he is to profit from it. However, not long after he left his homeland and his family, it was attacked by orcs and utterly destroyed. He returned later to find only ruins, and a single enchanted ring which belonged to his mother, which he now wears, putting the enchantment it holds to good use. After the destruction of his home, it has been hard to Talin to get close with anyone, for fear of losing them, and he has harbored a hatred for orcs like no other.
Items Not Described In Bio:
- The ring that is worn upon Talin’s ring finger grants him the ability to, when called upon, call an arrow forth to his grasp, eliminating the need for a quiver. This enchantment is not infinite however and must recharge for a days time after repeated use. It brings memories of his mother and fallen kin back to him, forcing him to fight all the more fierce. - - -

Name: The Mammoth, or simply Mammoth
Age: 23
Race: Human
Height: 6'2''
Weight: 300 lbs
Weapon(s): Massive Claymore, nearing 7 feet in length, etched with runes of his family. It is presumed unbreakable.
Style of fighting: Power, uses his extreme strength to overpower his enemies, as well as a good knowledge of tactics.
Alignment (Good or Evil?): Chaotic Good
Personality/appearance: Mammoth is known to many, but not by name. They simply know his appearance. A wandering warrior who is massive by any standard. He is built much like a powerlifter, big and broad, but not fat. With a buzzed haircut, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a goatee, his stare is cold and harsh, that of a man who spent much of his life fighting. His muscular body is an imposing figure. He is decked out in full plate armor, On his hands are gauntlets etched with runes of his family (see picture below). Mammoth doesn't trust many, but those who earn his trust forever have an ally that is bound by honor. Mammoth is an expert tactician and battle strategist, despite his gruff outer appearance. He can be a force to reckon with on any battlefield.
Fueled by his fury and will, Mammoth can fight through the toughest of situations his body taking untold punishment...
Short history of character: Mammoth is known as the wandering Barbiarian. He fights for good, but often will take destructive and evil means to get there. He beleives that the ends justify the means, in most cases. He has travelled many countries, and many places, only stopping as need be, to help those who need him. Other than that, nothing is known of his history.
Unmentioned things: Mammoth develops as time goes on, hes one of my longest standing characters, and he learns new abilties. Since this is a new forum, hes back to his normal self. No powers, nothing but his strength, will, and wit. He will change as time goes on.

(If you're bringing in a character from another board, I am too. I've been waiting for a long time to play him here, anyway. For those who know him from other sites, this is the version from about 100 years after Honorable Hogwarts and about 1,100 years before The Conclave.)
Name: Pinata (to his close friends, Candybag)
Age: Unknown (looks about 17 or 18, but is actually at least a hundred years older)
Race: Human/Wizard
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 189 lbs.
Weapons: Ornate, expensive-looking silver longsword with the word "Madeline" engraved on both sides of the blade; also carries several silver daggers of varying shapes and sizes, which he usually uses as ranged weapons (throwing knives). When caught unarmed, he is quite capable of killing with his bare hands; when all else fails, he also has his magic to fall back on. The overall appearance of his arsenal suggests someone who has come looking to fight werewolves, and he does indeed have a strong prejudice against them.
Note: Pinata's blade is goblin silver, which imbibes that which strengthens it... in other words, if he fights a poisonous creature the tip of the blade will become poisoned as a result, etc. The sword does have some special abilities picked up from other sites, which may be revealed later.
Style of fighting: Mixed martial arts with some old-school, British-style fencing thrown in. Generally uses magic to heal comrades more than to subdue opponents, but his favorite offensive magical moves usually involve things -- or people -- exploding.
Alignment: Chaotic good
Appearance: Athletic, but not particularly muscular. Regarded by the women of the towns he visits as rather handsome. Has strong, masculine facial features, medium-length black hair and beard, and ferociously intense brown eyes that carry something of a haunted look within them. Wears a modified version of wizard's robes, cut instead to resemble a loose-fitting jumpsuit... obviously intended to give him maximum comfort and mobility, this outfit is colored a deep, dark purple and has silver Elvish runes embroidered on it at the collar/breast (reading on one side "Fear me, for I am the bringer of death" and on the other "Trust me, for I am also your savior") and above the wrist around each cuffline (these smaller, one-word runes read "Unforgiven" and "Kinslayer"). He also wears a band of braided scalps running from right shoulder to left hip... when queried about their owners, he only states that they called themselves "Death Eaters" and that they "got what was coming to them".
Personality: Believes, even moreso than The Mammoth, that the ends justify the means. If he believes you are fighting for his enemy, he will behead your entire family in front of you, seize your valuables as spoils of war, and burn your house to the ground with you still in it. However, if you become his friend, he will gladly lay down his life for you, and in general he tries to be good-natured and personable with those he has no good reason to pick a fight with. As mentioned before, he is strongly prejudiced against werewolves.
Abilities: Pretty standard magical stuff (fireballs, healing, etc.), with two exceptions... first, he can turn himself into a donkey (but, for some reason, only a donkey), and second, he can open portals to parallel universes (he refers to the act of stepping through these portals as "Planeswalking"). It was through one of these portals that he came to this world, and nobody knows in which world he originated. He also stopped aging when he turned 18, though he does not quite know why and the lack of aging does not affect him in any other way (in other words, it won't affect gameplay).
Background: Obviously not of this world, he will sometimes seem surprised or confused by things that those who did not come from another dimension take for granted. However, he does speak several languages that are native to the world he currently occupies, including at least two dialects of Elvish, Celtic and Gaelic (for conversing with faeries, leprechauns and other "wee folk") and Gobbledygook (the language of goblins). He guards his secrets, including his real name -- no, it's not Pinata -- and the identity of the woman whose name is engraved on his sword (he also cries out for her in his sleep sometimes), very closely, and does not like to talk about his past. The subject of which member of his family he killed in order to be marked with the Elvish rune representing "Kinslayer" is especially off limits, though he may come to trust a longtime member of his party enough to divulge that information without being asked.

Name: Jodice Tial'Ske
Age: 22
Race: Valices (half-human, half-Valkyrie)
Weapons: form-shifting weapon named Natulesa, passed down from mother for melee attacks, appears whenever she needs it
Style of fighting: self-taught double-edged broadsword, soul-borne styles
Aligned as... Chaotic Good
Appearance: athletic, curvy, shapely frame of about 5' 2" w/ well-formed muscles all over, tanned skin, deep blue eyes with a ring of red in both, and long snow white hair braided in a net-like look; skin-tight brown leather/metal plate armor w/ pleated skirt around waist
Attitude: playful, slightly sadistic towards enemies, tough as nails; reactive to comments, and has an explosive temper that, if uncontrolled, can be destructive, but normally passes too quickly to do much. More often than not she simply doesn't care, although she is pushed and prodded from time to time into action.
Abilities: high speed and agility, a rather nasty tongue, and some basic thief/assassination abilities; able to seal weakened demons and other like-based enemies; ~once learned: limited ability to manipulate ethereal energy in the living; ability to communicate with sentient beings both living and deceased, as well as interact with those deceased or near-deceased on an intimate level; ability to see magic alignment (mainly for contrast), ethereal energies, and moods, among other things; ~|~universal soul abilities include (for now): a short-range quick-step attack which appears as a teleport-slash Soul Sphere (physical resistance as well as protection from varying magic, depends upon soul being used) Soul Crush (hold enemies in place and destroy the weakest enemies at the sacrifice of movement and a great deal of energy; opposite-color enemies are harmed more) Soul Rend (costs a lot of energy, but highly destructive berserk-like assault that can destroy enemies within range; again, dependent upon current soul being used); all ethereal-bound destructive magics are restricted in use against innocents and normal humans, no exceptions;
History: Never knowing her mother, she's only known her father and foster mother, and acquired Natusela from her father upon her leaving home. Since he claims it came from her mother she holds it very dear, even though she knows nothing of her. Although Jodice seems to be just the kind of person everyone would hate, she still seems to draw the right crowds. And even if she doesn't wish it, she does have a softer side... its just that she rarely lets it show through.
From her poor upbringing, she was always an adventurous child, never listening to her parent's pleas to not go here or there. Soon after coming of age, she simply ran away, seeking a life of adventure until she met those whom she is currently with. As such, she doesn't show the greatest amount of self control, but she isn't naive about whom she puts her trust into. Seemingly destined to always be alone, she refuses to allow any man near her, especially humans, for whatever reason, although those currently around her force Jodice outside that comfort zone. She has feelings that are clouded by her annoyance with human simplicity, another thing she got from her mother, along with seemingly reckless abandon while fighting.
Self-taught in many respects, she is almost a natural with a one-hand blade, something that hints to her true background a bit. Still too weak to handle a two-handed blade, she is still adept at attacking quickly, although her limited amount of practice has her at a disadvantage in terms of actual practice. Of course, things are changing quickly
Unspoken Items: -Natulesa changes form over time as her power grows, acquiring new forms from physical weapons as well as ones thought up, although caution is to be taken with the latter.
-Being still human in many respects, Jodice is restricted from her full power until a certain event comes to pass. What exactly that means has yet to be seen, but many great sacrifices have been made to even allow her to exist, and perhaps her spirit is much older than her body lets on...

Looks fine to me, you seemed to have given the character enough frailty and weaknesses that she doesn't seem like she would be overly powerful or anything, so it's all good by me Of course this rp is one of a democratic nature so anyone else is more than willing to chime in something if they wish And I have a picture thats pretty much the closest thing I could find to Talin His swords are a bit different and his armor covers his arms but other than that he pretty much looks like the picture above

.....Name: Findarial Englor
.....Age: 57
.....Race: Elf
.....Weapon(s): A finely crafted elvish saber as well as several throwing daggers that he carries on his armor
.....Style of fighting: Much like Talin, very quick, precise movements but also has daggers which he can expertly throw or use to strike an unsuspecting enemy
.....Alignment (Good or Evil?): Undeniably good, always has the best of intentions, which can sometimes get him into sticky situations
.....Personality: Fin is a very kind elf and always loves to have fun. He and Talin are very much alike in many ways and that's why they are such good friends. He loves a good fight and is extremely headstrong, which is often his downfall during fights. He is a fierce friend though and will always stand by your side.
.....Appearance: Fin is a young elf, only 57, and still holds boyish features in his face. He has long blond hair that hangs past his shoulders and icy blue eyes. He wears brown leather armor when in combat and his saber hangs on his left hip, with his daggers in several places across his chest hips and legs.
.....Short history: Findarial grew up in Korgasa as an orphan, never knowing his parents. When he was 17 he met Talin when he was in a fight with a thief who he had chased through the city for stealing some of his coin. Talin stepped in, saving Fin from having his throat cut by the thief and they became best friends. Over the years Talin taught Fin how to fight, and when they fight together they compliment each other so well that they have yet to be bested. The two elf's learn much from each other and are very fierce friends. Fin tends to get himself and those around him into trouble with his headstrong nature.

Name: Arthos
Age: Looks in his mid-twenties, actually 233 years old
Race: Used to be human, now corrupted, known as "The Unholy"
Weapon(s): None
Style of fighting: If he decides to kill someone, he would give the victim most a gruesome death, always changing his method. He uses magic to manipulate the victim's body itself resulting in death. Alternately he is able to me merge with earthly material of any kind to pass through any obstruction or to hide himself to an extent when he doesn't want to be observed.
Alignment (Good or Evil?): Usually good even though the source and nature of his powers demand sacrifice. Refer to history for details.
Personality: Very withdrawn, isolated by his nature and appearance. He is a source of many legends and myths over the year which usually potray him as the devil's agent or something similar
Appearance: He has the basic characteristics of a human except for a few that make him stand out immediately and also let the people recognize who he really is. His eyes are completely black which are said to be doorways to hell. He has an average, atheletic built. He has a black cape with a hood that covers his face and eyes almost all the time. The most distinguishing factor is this cloak that has a 'wind' of its own and passes through all substances. He wears a full black shirt, black fitting pants and black boots. His hands are normal except for black lines going up his arm from the end of his palm on the under side of his arm.
Short history of character: He was an exceptional human warrior about two centuries ago. He was chosen by Zeus to be his messenger who would walk among the mortals. He was given immortality and the holy powers like healing and command over light. As he descended back to the planet, he fell in love with a mortal, a devine being herself. She was killed while fighting. Using this as a ploy, Hades tricked him into giving himself willingly to his service turning him into a messenger of death, that which he is now, in exchange for letting her soul go back. He would find out later that her soul was never in hell. Instead, her soul had been accepted in heaven.
When he later went to Zeus to ask for his forgiveness he was told by a enraged Zeus that it was already too late and he would now never he accepted by the gods in heaven. He was ruthlessly struck down back to the land of mortals by Zeus. He was also cursed to suffer everytime he tried to harm an innocent, holy or devine soul. Everytime he would do so, he will turn more and more into an Unholy, corrupted being, reducing his chances to ever redeem himself.
The price for his current powers comes in the form of souls he must send down to Hell to keep Hades satisfied. He usually chooses the scum of the civilization for this sacrifice.
Items Not Described in bio:
He still wears a pendant around his neck that was given to him by Sythesia. He suspects it is also something she uses to track him when she descends to hunt him but he still doesn't throw it away.
((Did I overdo it in terms of powers? ))

Well if your character is immortal than I would say yes. However if he has weaknesses and can't just endlessly slaughter enemies like his is a god then you might be okay lol
But as i've said before I speak only for me, and this is a democratic thread so I would hear the other's opinions on this as well

*shrug* if he's immortal, then that sort of goes with the whole, godmodding thing, however, if he is killable, then no. And his powers seem fine so far, depends on his limits to use them.

In the sense that he doesn't age (he can still, say, get decapitated or something), my character's immortal too. Is that a bad thing?
