Paulin grinned. "How about Macartor? I don't think he had such a high opinon of either your beauty or your personality."

"All right... You have a point there... I suppose you're just too clever for me..." *Leah grinned at him.*

Paulin laughed. "Well, its only fair that I'm better than you at some things, since I know you far outstrip me in physical ability, as well as in beauty."

*Leah smiled, her eyes roaming over him for a moment.* "I'm not so certain about that... I think you underestimate yourself."

Paulin flushed slightly, feeling Leah's eyes on him. "You've obviously never seen one of my attempts at a self-portrait. After looking at those too long, you wouldn't have that great of an opinion of how I look either."

*Leah laughed, shaking her head lightly.* "If I had a portrait of you, I believe I could stare at it all day..."

Paulin flushed again. "So, will that be your prize if you win our bet?"

"I'll add mind reading to your list of talents..." *She gave him another of her bright smiles, seemingly unable to keep them from her lips.*

Paulin laughed. "Only yours, it would seem." He grinned. "Care to see if you share a similar talent?"

*Leah laughed.* "Somehow I don't think that is a skill I have... I'm absolutely dying to know what's really on your mind, but I've never been much good at knowing the thoughts of others..."

"Its one of those things you pick up as an artist," Paulin said, grinning. "Studying faces all the time. Its rather amazing how much of someone's personality you can put into a picture, just with subtle clues. Body language, lighting, expression..." He laughed. "After a while, you get to know what people are thinking even while you aren't drawing them onto a canvas."

*Leah smirked at that, finding it intimidating and thrilling at the same time.* "Really? Then I suppose you know exactly what's on my mind?"

Paulin grinned. "You mean other than wondering if I can really read minds?" He laughed, and then looked at her closely. "Well, right now, I get the impression that you're thinking that you'd prefer my kind of life to yours, and that you'd like the freedom that comes with having a profession of your choosing." He grinned again, and then said jokingly, "And, of course, you're also thinking about how undeniably charming, intelligent, and attractive I am, and how full of myself I've gotten since meeting you."

*Leah couldn't help but laugh, rather surprised by the evaluation.* "Right on all counts, sir. How remarkable..."

Paulin raised an eyebrow. "'Sir'? So does this mean I have to go back to calling you 'Milady'?"
