The portal closed as she managed to flee from his grasp for this moment. Bogan chuckled and called back his minions before releasing them from their duty for the time being. He would have fun with this one...
Spending the next couple of hours finding a portal to the mortal realm, Bogan jumped through, and quickly went about finding himself a demon mage to enslave. With that, he could hunt for Naiyume under the image of another being, and likely make his hunt much simpler.
Before setting off to find his demon mage, Bogan knelt down and put his ear to the ground. He sat there for a few moments, in an open desert, the moon full above him, before letting loose a roar that echoed through the darkness and compelled a few coyotes to howl. Bogan placed his ear by the ground again and listened before a rumble came to him from the east. He smirked and began walking that direction...

"Well I'll be d**ned..." Mammoth said, watching what happened as the girl began to ride the horse. He shifted in his saddle as he looked back at his two companions before kicking the horse to a good gallop. He planned on making this trip quickly, they'd lost enough time....
(Doing a bit of a time skip here...)
As the day grew long and night came, they came upon the entrance to the crevice. Mammoth had stayed silent for the trip, not wishing to bring up Glacia's interrogation again. He didn't know what to do for the mute girl, as everything with her was even more complicated than with Glacia. Although the horse issue came once before they began, it came again when Mammoth needed to switch horses so as to not harm the one he began the ride on. ((I will leave how mute girl dealt with this to you, Darklight)).
Now that they arrived, Mammoth dismounted the horse and walked up to the crevice opening, he knew it would take most of the night to traverse it to the depths, where he could investigate the damage that Dace had done... If it was truly him. Closer now to his first lead, Mammoth went about making a torch, grabbing some kindling and dried brush, setting it in a split log, wrapping it tightly and in multiple layers, and then lit it with his flint and knife.
He looked back to the two who had come with him, and then started the journey into the now desolate wasteland that was once a home of serenity and beauty. There wasn't much more proof needed that Dace had been here than that....

Mammoth looked back as the girl seemed hesitant to want to ride the horse. Mammoth couldn't figure out what the issue was, so rather than waste more time than was necessary in figuring it out, he just told her the truth.
"We're gonna be movin' faster than ya can on foot. So either ride the horse or get left behind. Don't worry, ya are as light as a feather to him. Or convince Kirin to let two ride her." Mammoth said, laughing a bit.
Mammoth was regretting allowing either of them to follow. Glacia pressed on with her nagging question. He had figured out his answer, but he wasn't going to say, he figured it better remain in his mind, for he didn't know if these two could take it. The smaller, possibly younger one, seemed unphased by anything, but Glacia was more in tune to her emotions.
Mammoth waited, seeing what the girl would do, if she didn't make a decision soon, he would leave her behind and let Glacia deal with her. His patience was wearing out...

Mammoth didn't respond as he waited for the two to catch up. He wasn't going to bother answering the question as he felt he would be wasting his breath. She wouldn't understand. She couldn't... He couldn't fail, lest he be dooming the entire world. Taking on another person that couldn't defend themselves in battle was just another hindrance to his fight, he had to look out for them... She didn't realize the struggle he faced, and the wear it had on his mind. He lived in exile every day after his brother died, knowing his duty, knowing what was at stake. Now, he goes after that duty, and he has to look out for two practically defenseless women that he is bringing to this danger for no other reason than they have nowhere else to go.
Mammoth continued waiting and pointed to the second horse and nodded to the new girl, telling her to get on the horse. She could ride that one rather easily. She was light enough it wouldn't burden the horse.
"We're not far... Maybe a day to the crevice..."

Bogan laughed at the rear of a few dozen soldiers chasing the fool girl.
"YOU CANNOT FLEE, CHILD. I WILL CATCH YOU." His voice echoed throughout the empty caves she was using to head toward the portals to the human realm. He didn't intend to catch her here, as harvesting the soul of a tired and scared demon was much easier than one that could fight back.
Bogan slammed his axe against a wall, making a horrifyingly loud clanging noise that would no doubt reach her ears. If she was at all aware of what was going on, she would know exactly whom was after her now...

Mammoth sighed and rubbed his face with his left hand.
"Because I can't sit here and watch after two of ya, even if Kirin decides to be a Dragon from time to time. This is a war, not a camp..." Mammoth said, shaking his head, "Ya want her to come, you get to take care of her, I'll do what I can, but if it comes down to stopping the demon or saving her, my priority is the demon..."
He looked over at her, there was something about the girl that said she had more intelligence than she let on. Something told Mammoth she was much older than he assumed. He looked back at Glacia, waiting to see what her reaction would be before he turned around and rode toward the crevice.

Mammoth looked back behind him at Glacia, who had begun talking to the mute girl again. Mammoth shook his had and turned back toward the two.
"Lets go..." He paused, knowing what he was going to say was going to sound heartless, "Leave her, we can't take her where we're going."
He knew there would be some protest, but he couldn't risk taking along another person who absolutely could not defend themselves. He had a job to do, he couldn't be taking care of children while he was on the journey. This one had no business being here. At least Glacia had a reason to join the hunt...

You might wanna rename this thread to Fleeting Sanctuary profiles
---
Name: Bogan Terr Race: Full demon Appearance: Two massive horns sticking out of his head, standing nearly 10 feet tall, and carrying two massive axes that juxtapose his black as night skin with their silver and white gleam, Bogan is more than an imposing figure. His eyes glow like red pits of fire, his hands large enough to grasp a man's chest and crush it. His sharp teeth often are showing with the sick grin on his face. History: Well known for his efforts as a bounty hunter of souls, he is called upon to bring back trouble demons and human souls that refuse to be called to the underworld. He has never failed in this task. Called now to go after Naiyume, a foolish half demon who felt she was above the rules of the underworld, Bogan knows his task should be simple...

((Thank ye))
Mammoth stopped running as Kirin blew fire like a crazed dragon. The flames licked out toward him, and he stood there as the smoke and the dust that was kicked up cleared. When he could finally see again, standing in front of two charred half-skeleton figures was Kirin, the beast showing off its true nature.
Mammoth chuckled as he walked up and kicked over the skeletons which erupted into dust.
"Remind me not to piss YOU off." Mammoth said, patting Kirin on the back as he walked by. He headed over to the Glacia and checked to see if she was alright, he couldn't see where the other girl went, but she obviously was not going to be taken by the now torched or dismembered bandits.
Mammoth walked over to the corpses of the three he dispatched and rummaged through their pockets and took what money they had. They had a good bit of well-made gear, which implied they had just been in town. Mammoth walked over and took the reins of the two horses that had started to wander away together. The third that Mammoth had caused to rear back had a broken back leg. It likely wouldn't make it, so Mammoth put it out of its misery with a swift stab to the back of the neck.
He walked the horses back over the the corpse with a knife in the back of its head and he pulled the knife out of the man. Wiping it down and placing it back where it belonged in his pack. These were well trained horses, they weren't even attempting to escape Mammoth's grip. It made him wonder exactly where these bandits came from to have gathered such equipment and such mounts. Mammoth cracked his neck and climbed up on one of the horses. His sword, which typically would weigh down any person who tried to use it, had no effects on animals, but the animal would struggle under Mammoth's weight. Either way, that was why he grabbed two of them, when one got tired, he could switch horses. Once he was up on the horses back he looked back to Glacia.
"Let's get movin'."

Mammoth stepped to the side as the girl ran past him to go toward Glacia. Kirin didn't budge, and Mammoth knew a protective animal such as that wouldn't let a threat near her friend. It was obvious that the girl was not human, but rather some sort of supernatural creature, he had figured that much by where she had spent her time... in the root of a tree. Mammoth nodded his head as he put his sword back in his sling. The girl ran by him to grab flowers which she brought over to Kirin and Glacia.
Mammoth took his time walking back to the group, something felt wrong, and by the time he got there, he heard Glacia asking the girl to say hello. She pointed to her mouth, and made no sound. It started to make some sense, and when she grabbed a flower and handed it to him, he understood.
"Ya can't talk." He said, his tone calm and understanding, "Thanks." He said, taking the flower and gently laying it in his pack. He didn't care about the flower, but he understood that she was trying to be warm, so he took it.
Mammoth smiled to the girl, and turned around, he hoped she wouldn't follow, the last thing he needed would be to have to take care of two women that were useless in battle...
He headed toward the campfire and kicked dirt over the smoldering embers of the fire to ensure that it went out. As he did that, he could hear hoof beats over coming hard from the west. He turned and saw 5 men on horseback, they each had a bandanna around their face, and were riding hard, their pack mules in the distance behind them.
"Bandits... d**n... Stayed in one place to long."
Mammoth pulled his sword and took off to get himself between the bandits and the woman.
"GLACIA, SWORDS UP! LIKE I TRAINED YA!" He yelled turning back toward the five men that were charging. One had a spear, the other four had swords. Mammoth backed himself closer the two he was with. If he knew bandits around this area, these girls were a greater prize for them than any goods they may have.
As the men got closer, two split off to go around back and pick up the girls, the other three came right for Mammoth. The front-most man with the spear came dead ahead, intending to use his spear like a lance. Mammoth laughed and waited until the man was nearly on top of him before slammed his sword into the dirt in front of him. The horse slammed into the sword and flipped the man with the spear over Mammoth's head. Pulling his blade out of the ground with his right hand and catching the spear the with left, Mammoth sliced the bandit in two halves right down the middle with his sword. Rolling to the side to avoid the slash by one of the charging horsemen. The second bandit, a bit behind, caught the spear in the head, his horse veering off instead of running Mammoth over.
The last left Mammoth behind and headed toward the other two horses that were nearing the girls. Mammoth pulled his knife out of his pack, flipped it by the hilt and grabbed the blade before chucking it at the fleeing man. It hit him in the back of the head and he dropped off his horse.
Mammoth broke into a sprint, tearing at a speed a man of his size shouldn't be able to make... It was apparent these bandits had no idea who they were messing with...
d**n, I gotta get there and stop those horses or the girls are gone...
The men had already reached the women and he had a good 25 yards to make up...

Cool, I remember this one. There just wasn't much of a backstory or entrance, which kinda inhibits most people from jumping right on in.
I can definitely make it work though, seems like you were just trying to be "open" to ideas.
Just a hint that tends to help threads get off the ground: The first post needs to be very detailed about the world or the basics of the "story thus far." People tend to see a small post and go "Okay, and?" and if they don't see any direction it turns them off from posting.
Also there's the other side of that that I tend to hit, where you write a small book... Which is equally disheartening sometimes.
No offense meant, just a tip.

Mammoth stayed in the same position, his blade at the ready, waiting for her to make her move.
When she did nothing but yawn like a little child being woken up from sleeping in, Mammoth still didn't lower his guard.
"What the hell are you?" He demanded. He had the feeling she was a demon, and that feeling wasn't letting up.
