I've been reading some of the Wheel of Time books recently, and I'd like to see about starting an RP with it.
I'm still learning names of places and what each one is, but the main location I'm looking at is a city that was basically summoned from the ground itself. It's a fortress that was pulled from the ground instead of built. It's called the Stone of Tear. The characters will all be residents of the Stone. A little side note, every member of the city is required to help the city in specific ways, so characters need to be skilled fighters, skilled farmers, or skilled craftsmen. During the harvest, all residents are equals, regardless of status. Even the rulers are known to go out and till the land.
I have some plans for a plot, but before I go into detail I want to see who's interested. Also, Wheel of Time is only 1 vote away from becoming an official thread. Someone want to throw the last vote up there? pweeeeeeeease? O:-)

I haven't read any books from the series (Dont want to either, they are freaking huge!) You think I can manage without that?

Hard to say, you might want to consult Wikipedia (or see if there's an actual Wheel of Time wiki) and make sure that has all the info you need. I've RPed based solely on Wiki data before, and it turned out all right a couple of times and was an unmitigated disaster on another occasion.
As for me, I've just started the third book, so I won't be much help knowledge-wise either. I will join in if I can think of a character, though.

I'll just throw up some more info about the plot. It's going to be in Tear (primarily around the capital city, Tear, which is where the Stone of Tear is...they must cry a lot >.> ). Rumors have been going around saying that Callandor, the most powerful Sa'Angreal known, has been found (after someone took it and then lost it). Some of the nobles have begun to hire people to find out where Callandor is. The prophets have said that a new age is coming, and many people want to be the ones to bring it about.
Player vs player may happen, especially if they are hired by opposing Nobles, but being hired is not required.
Only restriction on character creation is that it must be wholly original.

I'm about as far as Pinata, knowledge-wise (I lost my copy of the third book, and haven't bothered replacing it), but count me in.

yays!
Also, I have a character profile up, but don't assume that it's the format to use... I haven't figured that out yet, so go ahead and make something up XD
More stuffs: The events of the books are to assumed to have not happened. Y'all can't be heroes if the books' characters are running around bringing about the next age XD
Also, I modified my post about the plot.

Hey, is it all right if my character's a Wolfbrother?

Cool, thanks. I googled "Tairen names" to see what I should name a character from Tear (not sure why they don't call them "Tearans"), and there was one that was perfect for a Wolfbrother.

I am sensing that your character and my character might have some interesting dialogue... XD

I love RPing flirts. I guess that's because I'm a flirt in real life. I'm actually starting to work up an immunity to pepper spray. ;D
