"Loud engine... Oh sh**." Jim looked up into the air. "We don't got no air support..." He turned to Toni and Dan. "Get yourselves and your settlers out of here. Tae Raz with you. My men and I'll rovide a decoy. Don't worry, this is the confederacy we're talking about here. I'm sure they'll take plenty long courtmarshalling us." He tried to grin, but couldn't quite manage it. "After the confeds are gone, be sure to come back here and track down that com signal we got earlier. Oh, and take my bike with you. I sure won't need it where I'm going."

Aaron tried pulling himself up. Somthing unsettled and fell on his already aching back. He screamed in pain coughing out blood onto the clear surface of helmet . His comm alerts were flickering again. Zergs. Bad news.
I need to get outta here. Fast, Aaron thought to himself. Oh God...
He coughed again, racking his lungs for want of fresh air. The emergency life support would kick in in a while. He'd not be around to enjoy it unless someone was able to stop the bloodloss.

As Ash stepped cautiously over the piles of rubble and around the sparking power wires, his highly trained senses allowed him to hear the helmet-muffled cough that came from somewhere ahead of him. Someone else must have gotten caught in the debris. Ever careful, he continued down the ruined hallway and came across a body half-buried in shattered concrete and steel. "Are you alright?" Ash said quietly as he switched off his cloaking device. The man that lay before him seemed a little surprised at Ash's sudden arrival. He loved that look. 'One of the only perks of the job' he thought to himself, shaking his head. "What'sa matter fella?" Ash chortled, "You look like you've seen a Ghost. Heh heh. Alright, let's get you outta here." Ash stepped to the side and helped to clear the rubble from on top of the man. He stepped back to take a look at the slender man he was helping. "You're a Ghost too, eh? Tch. I would have liked to expect a little better from one with such extensive training as our own... Not like those d**n fool marines and militia. Fighting right out in the open like that. It's a wonder any of them actually expect to survive a single battle. Oh, anyway, you look hurt. Well, this kinda goes against my nature, but one can never have too many favors owed to him, so lemme give you a hand. Hurry up, more Zerg will be here any minute." Ash slung his canister rifle around to his back and extended his hand to his new comrade.

Despite having having a broken leg. Despite being unable to breath. Despite the fact that he was half-dead...Aaron found himself smiling.
He reached out and grabbed the extended hand, rejoicing as the newcomer pulled him up, and none too gently. He winced in pain as the full weight of his body settled on him.
"Thanks...thanks a lot. We better leave. Now. Zergs..." the rest of his words dissloved in a fit of coughing.

"Thanks...thanks a lot. We better leave. Now. Zergs..." the rest of his words dissloved in a fit of coughing. "Geez... You're pretty banged up," Ash said as he slung his new companion's arm over his shoulder. They set off down the remnants of the hallway ahead of them as quickly as they could. "What's your name anyhow, buddy? I figure if we're going to escape certain doom here, or die trying, we might as well know each other's names," Ash said with a grin and patted the other Ghost on the chest jokingly. "Oh, sorry about that," Ash said as the man winced in pain. "My name's Ash Dows by the by. Oh, and while we're being all chatty like this, I don't suppose you could tell me if you know a way to get outta this place, do ya?"

Aaron grimaced painfully as the full force of his rescuers' friendly pat landed on his chest.
*"What's your name anyhow, buddy? I figure if we're going to escape certain doom here, or die trying, we might as well know each other's names," *
"Aaron. Names Aaron." he panted out. "Way out," he coughed again. "Theres an emergency beacon about a few hundred meters from this place. Survivors....gathered there."

"Few hundred meters, eh?" Ash mused, "Doesn't sound too bad... for a person in decent health that is.... Alright, Aaron. First things first. Whaddaya say we take a little stroll outside?" Ash said with a smirk. The two continued down the hall until they came to a small metal door. The door was jammed, but the problem was easily solved by a swift kick from Ash in just the right place. The Ghosts hobbled out into the harsh sunlight of the wasteland and squinted as their eyes adjusted from the dim, flickering light of the wreck they had just emerged from. The town looked more desolate than it ever had with only a number of Zerg carcasses peppering the landscape. "Y'know, I really like what they've done with the place," Ash commented sarcastically.
Scanning their surroundings the new companions were incredibly lucky enough to be able to find what looked to be a Vulture. Though the bike had been stripped of its weapons and most of its armor plating, it would get them where they had to go.
After helping Aaron climb onto the back, Ash hopped into the driver's seat. "Ah, listen to that baby purr," Ash said, relieved that he was actually able to start it, and with a rev of the engines, they were off in search of the other survivors. "When we get to the beacon we'll find somebody to help you," he yelled back to Aaron. "For right now, you just hang on! Yee ha!"

"Like I have a f***ing choice...." Aaron grumbled, quite uncharacteristic of his normally cheerful temperment. Having a whole building fall down on your back does that to a person.
He winced as his crushed ribs jolted against each other when the Vulture's engines kicked in. And that predatory engine was letting him know one thing quite clearly...
This was going to be anything but a smooth ride.

It was ANYTHING but a smooth ride, but soon the duo closed in on the beacon. From where they were, they could see a small group of Terran dropships preparing for lift-off. With the hopes of getting off of this god-forsaken rock, Ash pushed the Vulture's engines close to their limit and was able to catch the attention of some of the other survivors, ensuring that they would not be left behind. They pulled up and were met by two Terrans that weren't busy loading cargo at the moment, which, considering the circumstances, was as warm a welcome as Ash could have hoped for. After explaining themselves and their situation, Ash and Aaron were invited aboard one of the ships, and promptly found a Medic to help Aaron. After some time, Ash could hear the dropship engines being fired up. As he looked out of the closest window, the thought of the barren wasteland before him shrinking away until he couldn't see it anymore put a grin on his face. The dropship lurched as it left the ground. Breathing a silent sigh of relief, Ash watched the landscape begin to fade and then decided to go check on Aaron. He was healing quite nicely and looked a lot better than when Ash had found him. "Well, it's nice to see that you're recovering g so quickly. Couldn't very well pay me back for rescuing your sorry behind if you were bedridden, huh?" Ash joked. "Well... looks like the worst is over...”<br> No sooner were those words out of Ash's mouth than the pilot's voice came on over the intercom system. He informed the passengers that they were able to flag a Terran Battlecruiser and that it was en route to pick them up now. Most of the people cheered and clapped. Ash never thought he'd be happy to hear about anything involving the Confederacy. Still, something seemed wrong. Ash felt a little uneasy and started to get a headache, which was generally a sign of bad things to come. A Zerg air assault maybe? Whatever it is, I'd best be on my guard, Ash thought. Soon the Battlecruiser was before them and they were allowed to dock safely in one of the 'cruisers docking bays. They landed and a few Confederate Marines boarded to see them off the dock safely. "I got a bad feeling about this Aaron," Ash whispered. "Turn on your cloaking device. We might be better off if our presence isn't known right at the moment." Cloaking himself as well, Ash helped Aaron follow the rest of the survivors as they were led to what looked like some sort of holding room. Ash started to breathe heavy. This doesn't feel right at all... The Marine escort herded the refugees into the center of the room and then formed a line in front of them. Ash and Aaron tucked themselves away in the far corner of the room behind the squad of 5 or 6 Marines. Seconds later, the voice of a man with a thick southern drawl came on over the loudspeaker. "Welcome aboard folks. I'd wish ya'll a pleasant stay but regretfully, it won't be a very long one. I'm really sorry, but, orders are orders. Nothin' personal y'understand... You know what to do boys." The crackle of static signifying the end of the transmission was followed by the significantly louder crackle of the Marine's gauss rifles as they let loose a hail of bullets into the crowd. The ammunition tore through the helpless civilians, splattering blood and tissue amongst the bullet-holes on the far wall. Ripping through adult and child indiscriminately, volley after volley drowning out the screams of their victims as they fell to the cold metal floor in bloody heaps. Ash could do nothing but watch as the slaughter went on. He had never witnessed such heartless behavior. A hatred built up inside of him and he had to bite his tongue to prevent himself from crying out and revealing their location. He put a hand on Aaron's shoulder and gripped it tightly. This was unacceptable. This would not go unpunished. How could the Confederacy do such a thing? How could they?! The firing stopped and the few remaining whimpers and cries that came from the pile of corpses were silenced by another round from the rifle of a patrolling Marine. Each additional shot like an explosion in Ash's mind. He could not allow this to continue. "Stay here," he whispered to Aaron. With that he walked out towards the center of the room and removed both of his daggers from their sheaths. He was about to show these Marines what a Ghost was capable of... (( Sorry about the long post!!! I couldn't stop myself! ))

Dessan noticed the many battlecruisers. He decided to dock there. Two battlecruisers were approaching them rather quickly. " Hang on boys we are going to have a rough time. " His only ships were 3 specially modified corsairs, an arbiter, and three scouts. The corsairs and scouts made short work of them, but more battle cruisers were on the way. " Arbiter Pilot, recall strategy." The arbiter took off.
" Unknown Aircraft, surrender or we'll destroy you." A battle cruiser pilot said. But in a blue swirl they were gone

The Marines were completely unaware of Ash's presence among them. To them he was just a ripple in the air, his movements like dust in the wind. Ghosts were trained to be cold, heartless, killing machines. Ash had never embodied that ideal more than this moment. He struck quickly and viciously, allowing his cloaking screen to drop briefly before dealing each death-blow. He wanted these bastards to know what hit them. He wanted them to die in the same fear and confusion and shock that their victims had. After blinking in and cutting down one of his last targets, Ash heard the click of a rifle behind his head. "Gotcha," grunted the Marine that stood behind him with his muzzle at the back of Ash's skull.
Ash cursed silently to himself. He had gotten careless. He let his emotions take control and he made a mistake. Faster than a speeding bullet I'm not... Ash thought, If I move I'm finished. He slowly turned his head to look at the Marine behind him through the corner of his eye. In doign so, his eyes passed over the spot where he had left Aaron. Aaron! Ash exclaimed in his head upon remembering his new friend. Now would be a wonderful time to pay me back for saving your life....

Aaron had fliped his sloak on when the fighting began and Ash had gone on to stage his own revenge massacre.
He felt his panic rear its ugly head at the sight of a gun at the back of Ash's head. He silently pulled his own weapon out. But his broken leg gave him away at the wrong moment. He stumbled against a piece of broken wreckage and the Marine snapped around.
Thankfully the cloak hadnt betrayed him like his leg. Aaron shot the MArine between the eyes.

Ash collapsed and fell to his knees with a thud. He was breathing heavy from the physical exertion and from relief as the tension of barely escaping death faded away slowly. He gathered himself and turned to face his partner. "Looks like we're even," he said through heavy breaths. He smiled for a moment and then glanced around him, remembering all that had just happened, and his smile soon faded. He turned back to Aaron again. "We gotta get outta here," he said dryly. "They'll be sending someone to look for these troops in a little while and I don't wanna be here when they arrive."
