Gryffon handed the telescope over to Brigil who stared at the far away island. She pushed it back into its small cylindrical shape and asked her brother, "You sure that you want to land there for the night?" Gryffon's blue eyes never wavered from the island as he replied steadily, "Yes. We do need to replinish our stocks. And I think the men would like to feel land beneath their feet again." Brigil sighed, "As you wish." She leaned over the railing and yelled out orders that they should make for the island. She pulled out the telescope again, following the movement of another ship which was currently docked on the side of the island. She would tell her brother but not like he'd listen. He would welcome the chance for a good fight. Just before nightfall, they managed to dock safely. Gryffon walked slightly unsteadily once on the soft beach while Brigil had to fight back a laugh and asked innocently, "Not too easy to walk straight after having the land beneath your feet isnt rocking?" She chuckled at the glare he gave her and walked more steadily in comparison. As the various men began to lower casks and boxes, Gryffon and Brigil moved furter on the beach. Gryffon pulled slightly at the scarf he wore, "I think we should atleast explore the island..." Brigil winced and added,"There is something I should tell you....." Before she could continue, there came a great war-whoop and before she knew what was happening, a cutlass was pressed against her neck and Gryffon was held as same by her side. A tall lean figure approached them and studied them from under its black cavliar hat and asked, "What business brings you here?" Gryffon cleared his throat, "We merely landed to stock up and...." He trailed off when he realised that the figure in front of him was a female. Brigil merely raised her eyebrows in surprise and asked, "Who are you?" ((Gha...you know who it is...how many of us have black cavlier hats? *hint hint* And I hope that this is fine as...i have never dont pirate rp's ))

((Perfect. Heeeeeeeeere's Audra! )) *Audra Morgan slowly approached the two strangers like a cat cornering her prey. Her voice was stern and commanding as she spoke.* "What business brings you here?" *The man cleared his throat before answering.* "We merely landed to stock up and...." *He trailed off, staring at her as she stopped in front of him. Apparently he was surprised about discovering he was being held captive by a woman. She smirked slightly. It wasn't the first time it had happened.* "Who are you?" *Audra turned her attention toward the female. Her eyes roamed over her for a moment before glancing at the man again. They were definitely related.* "Bold question..." *Without looking away, she spoke to one of the pirates standing nearby.* "Miss William... His weapons please." *Audra watched as her young quartermaster retrieved weapons from the man's belt. Audra studied the sword and pistol that were placed in her hands. She noticed that the girl had similar weapons as well.* "Hm... Interesting... Well, I suppose I have nothing to hide from your kind. I... am Captain Morgan." *She glanced at the other pirates around them.* "And this is the crew of the Tempest." *She took another step forward, her face stern as she took hold of the man's red scarf, tugging on it gently.* "And you could be a threat to their safety. I should probably just have them attack your crew now... We could use some free supplies. But perhaps you can give me a good reason not to take all of your lives..." *Audra stared into the man's eyes, wondering what she should do. She didn't know about this man or his crew... To take them all on would be risky. She cared too much about her own crew to send them to their deaths. But if she didn't act first, he might. It was rare to find two crews that didn't want to rob and kill each other, even if the Tempest crew usually only took what they needed...*

Gryffon's eyes darkened in anger and Brigil bit the inside of her cheek, not wanting any wrong answer to spill over her lips. True their own crew would love an oppurtunity to spill some blood. But the siblings had insisted that blood would not be spilt unless necessary.
Gryffon replied in a calm yet dangerous soft voice, "You ask us on why we should live? Shouldn't we ask you the same?" Brigil immediatly slammed her elbow into the man's stomach, and pulled out a silver hafted knife from her boot. Gryffon pulled away from his captor's grasp, punching him in the jaw.
Brigil stood by Gryffon and the crew of the "Anne" as they stood facing off Audra and her crew. Brigil eyed the crew and said in a matter-of-fact voice, "Seems that we have a stale mate...."

"Seems that we have a stale mate...."
"Aye... That we do..." *Audra glanced behind her at her crew, all of them already holding their weapons steady, prepared to strike at her command. But this bloodshed would be pointless. She wasn't willing to sacrifice her family for nothing. She turned back to the two that seemed to be the leaders of the group, a storm swirling in her blue-gray eyes.* "So what will it be? We can let our weapons do the talking... But I personally don't see the point in it. However, if you're the type that wants to see some bloodshed, I suppose I won't have a choice." *Her eyes narrowed slightly. She hated the thought of men who lived only to kill... She quickly pushed her hatred aside, not wanting to show any emotion in front of these strangers.* "If you are willing to stand down, my crew and I shall as well."

Brigil exchanged a glance with Gryffon and then at their own crew. Even though they were pirates, they would be considered very easy going pirates. Not always fighting and sinking ships and stealing.
"If you're willing to stand down, my crew and I shall too." Gryffon slipped his sword back into its sheath as he said, "Tis better than spilling un wanted blood." Gryffon waved a hand to his crew who, some what hesitantly lowered their weapons.

"Tis better than spilling un wanted blood."
*Audra watched as the man's crew lowered their weapons. She turned to her own crew and nodded. They immediately put their weapons away although a few of them seemed a bit disappointed.* "That's better. It seems that we're not the only decent crew sailing these waters." *She took a step foward toward the other captain, holding out her hand.* "Now for a proper introduction. Captain Audra Morgan of the Tempest, at your service."
((Sorry so short... Gotta go to school... Last day before break! Woohoo!))

~ okay I'm bringing Ada in you already sorta got me involved ~ * Ada sheathed her weapon a bit reluctantly, but if Audra thought it best than so be it. Glancing over her shoulder Ada searched the crew of the Tempest, her most trusted family, she soon snapped her attention back to their captain. This would be interesting...*

"Now for a proper introduction. Captain Audra Morgan of the Tempest, at your service."
Gryffon half-bowed, "Captain Gryffon Aurelius ,of the good ship "Anne", at your service." Brigil nodded, "First mate, Brigil Aurelius, of the "Anne".
The crew seeing that they had reached an agreement of sorts, moved away to set individual camps. Gryffon tugged his scarf back in place, "What brings you this far from land Captain Audra?"

*Audra glanced at her crew and noted that they were returning to their various activities, sensing that this new crew was no longer a threat. However, one pirate stayed with Audra... Ada. Audra smiled at her friend before turning back to Gryffon.*
"What brings you this far from land Captain Audra?"
*Audra smirked slightly.* "Simply the call of the open ocean and the hope of adventure. We stopped here to restock on supplies... There's good game in the area." *She paused for a moment, taking a closer look at the pair in front of her. She had been right to assume that they were related... Gryffon looked to be about her age but Brigil was younger... She was tempted to let her guard down a little around the two of them... They seemed like good enough people... However, she had learned not to trust even the kindest people.* "So... What of you?"

* Ada watched as the crew set off slowly back to their routines and work. She noted the stiffness of Audra and held firmly to her side. Ada smiled at Audra and relaxed a bit. The two captains of the ship Anne looked as if they meant no harm unless provoked so she stood and watched as they talked, always aware of how the story went.*
~Kait if I bring Daniel into this can we make it work? Not now since it just started but I'd like to try it out later.~

Gryffon replied easily, "Business milady. My father was a fairly well known bussiness and I must often travel to see that we get a fair profit from our sales."
Brigil shook her head and replied, "Don't listen to him. Thats his excuse. He loves the sea and the ever present adventure that lurks over the horizon. Thats his real reason to always push so far away from home."
Audra gave a small chuckle as Gryffon glared at Brigil who smiled serenly back. His brother often said that if he were to ever court a women, he would prefer that she have the same love for the open seas as he did. But he never did learn when to stop.
She looked over to Ada and asked, as she fiddled with her cutlass, "The captain mentioned there being fair game here. What is there to hunt for here?"

*Audra gave a small chuckle as Gryffon glared at Brigil. It was good to know that she wasn't the only captain that just wanted the open sea and a new adventure. That had to be the most amazing thing about her life... her freedom. Audra glanced at her quartermaster who seemed quite intent on listening to the conversation. Audra was grateful for her presence. She never had been too comfortable around strangers. That's why she left the dealings outside of the Tempest to the ship's ambassador, Beau. Audra was drawn out of her thoughts as Brigil addressed Ada.*
"The captain mentioned there being fair game here. What is there to hunt for here?"
((Just a note: Bethany and I had Audra and Ada before I created this forum so we know a lot about the crew, ship, history, etc. So you may see a few lesser characters pop up every now and then such as Beau, Alden (the cook), Barret (the gunner), Daniel (the rigger), and Gwen (the scout). Oh by the way, Bethany... I'm not going to use the Audra/Galen thing here. We're just not going to have a surgeon for now. However, you can still use the Ada/Daniel story if you want.))

*Ada glanced back and forth between Audra and Brigil.*
"The captain mentioned there being fair game here. What is there to hunt for here?"
Mainly boar; Wild Deer is common and there are plenty of birds. This island has a rare fruit that grows on the trees too. *Ada smiled at Brigil and then turned to her captain* Miss Audra I must be getting back to the crew. They are a lively bunch and they need tending to. *Audra nodded to Ada. She turned towards Brigil and Gryffon and nodded. Grabbing her things she headed back towards the campsite. Daniel was sitting on a rock by the shore and she sighed when she saw him... smiling she headed towards him.*

"Miss Audra I must be getting back to the crew. They are a lively bunch and they need tending to."
*Audra nodded, unable to hide the slight smile on her lips at hearing Ada speak to her so casually. She only allowed two people on the Tempest to call her by her name most of the time... Ada and Alden. Outside of parties or casual meetings, she expected to be called Captain but Ada was like a sister to her almost. After watching Ada leave, she turned back to Gryffon and Brigil. She looked them both over before sighing softly. She couldn't figure out how to deal with another captain and first mate. She couldn't leave this job up to Beau... and she almost didn't want to anyway. But what to do? She hesitated a moment before speaking.* "Well... I suppose we have some things to discuss if we are to share this island for a while. Perhaps you will join me in a walk around it while we talk...? You could become more familiar with it."

Brigil's mouth twitched in a slight smile as she said, "I would like to do that, but I must attend to the crew as well." She bowed and left towards the crew. She smiled as Edmont walked along her saying, "Little miss, are you sure that we can trust them?" She looked affectionately at the white haired man beside her who had called her "Little miss" for as long as she could remeber.
"I'm pretty sure we can Edmont. But i think we should watch our backs. Just in case. But lets talk of pleasenter things. What is for dinner?" The old man chuckled as he led her to the camp fire, describing the dinner.
Gryffon sighed as his sister walked away. Typical of her. She never did scouting the terrain. He held out a hand, palm upwards, as he said, "After you."
