Anton turned towards the man who was obviously the captain, pulling his hood over his head again as he did so. "I take it you would be the captain of this ship?" Anton asked as the man came towards him.
((Do you want to play the captain?))

((Not particularly... lol. I have a hard time playing guys... unless they're gay. )) *Mariah went back to scrubbing the deck, although this time she didn't whistle or hum, quiet as possible so that she could hear the conversation.*

((Then what say we just gloss over this conversation?)) The bargaining was quickly done, and Anton stepped aboard the ship, uncomfortable at the swaying motion beneath his feet. He quickly found an place to sit down that was out of the way of the crew, and waited for the captain to cast off.

*Mariah quickly finished her cleaning and began preparing the ship to set sail along with all of the other sailors. It wasn't long at all before the anchor was up, the gangplank taken away, and the ropes set loose, The Liberator drifting away from the docks and out to sea.*

Anton breathed a sigh of relief as the ship left the port. He was finally leaving... and, while the sailors looked a rowdy bunch, he felt oddly secure and safe. He realized with a small sigh that the voyage would be a long one, and got out one of the spellbooks he had stolen when he left his home. Muttering the words to bypass the wards on the book, he opened it and began studying the spells.

*Mariah was busy for quite some time helping the crew, but when everything was done and the ship was sailing smoothly through the deep waters, Mariah walked over to their passenger, one hand on her hip as she watched him.* "So... What's with the hood...?"

Anton started, slamming the spellbook shut as he leaped up and looked around himself wildly. "What? Oh, er- well, its just that hoods are terribly fashionable in Halruaa at the moment," he joked, relaxing from his wary position when he saw that it was Mariah.

*Mariah raised an eyebrow at him, tilting her head curiously.* "A little jumpy aren't you? What were you reading?"

Anton's eyes darted from side to side. "What? Oh, its just - just a spellbook. Yes... just a spellbook." He smiled nervously. "You know, the kind wizards use? Just a spellbook."

*Mariah laughed a little at his strange behavior.* "Just a spellbook... Got it. So, does that mean you're a wizard or something...?"

Anton smiled slightly, still not relaxing. "You could say that." Anton shrugged, trying to regain his composure. "Of course, nearly everyone else in Halruaa is a wizard as well... most of them just don't travel by boat. At least, not by this kind of boat," he amended.

"I don't know much about Halruaa, but they certainly are missing out if they don't travel on ships. I can't even imagine what kind of a dreadful life that would be." *Mariah shook her head, glancing out at the rolling waves.*

Anton smiled slightly. "I didn't say that they had no ships. Its just that most of them don't travel the water."

*Mariah's brow furrowed in confusion as she looked at him again.* "What do you mean? If they have ships then they travel the water, don't they?"

Anton grinned, relaxing now that she was no longer asking about him. "You mean to tell me you've never heard of the Halruaan Skyships?"
