((Stargate SG-1 reference... General Hamond is the bald guy in charge, and one of the free Jaffa refers to him as Hamond from Texas and rubs his hand over his own head to show that Hamond is bald))
"Just one very, very important question. How soon will Black Death be fixed? I was promised repairs as part of my pay. Also, my spare beam rifle should be here as well. It was supposed to be carried on-board so I could get it back after I brought the M-field gun in." Claude pointed to the large gun attached to Black Death's right shoulder. "I was borrowing it for my last mission."

( Ah...never seen SG-1, only the movie. That's funny, I totally didn't mean to do that)
Yumel gave Claude an apologetic smile. " I could not say at this point, but as soon as our engineers have an estimate, I'll make certain it is sent to you. As for your weapon, we have it, and it will be exchanged out for the M-gun."

Allistaire Raines sat in the on-board cantina of Lanchester's ship. He spun a drink glass in front of him idly. This battle had gone well, despite the slip-ups. He didn't mind much. He kicked the glass back and set on the table. "Another, if you don't mind, M'ed," he said. The tender complied without a word, filling his glass.

John entered the cantina halfway through Allistaire's second glass, making his way over to his team mate. " Mind if I join you?" he asked in his usual, flat voice. John was the model image of an average man, not short or tall, not fat or thin, not handsome or ugly, all just inbetween with brown hair and eyes and little expression. His first cyberization operation had been botched, and the emotional control center of his brain had been fried as a result. He rarely showed anything on his face and it was hard to say if he still felt any emotions at all.

"not a problem at all," Allistaire said. "Nice work back there, John. You really saved my ass."

" Just doing my job," John said as he took a seat. " You did better than me though. That was some excellent work, taking out that ship's engines like you did. You probably won the whole battle for us and the UESA forces."

"I'm really fine," Jenna complained. She let didn't pull her arm away, though; the prospect of sleep didn't sound all that bad.

" Of course you are," Lira said in a too easily agreeing tone. She casually but firmly lead Jenna off the flight deck and bustled her into a lift to the living quarters. " You did good out there," she said as the lift started. " I was impressed how you handled those funnels, those things can trip up even the best pilots."

Jenna, not one to take a compliment casually, replied with a downcast expression on her face, "But I. . . I messed up. I should have gone after the enemy right away instead of messing around with the stupid funnels and letting them surround me." She looked up at the elder woman, brightly. "But you were amazing! I bet you could have done it better than I did."

" I doubt it," Lira said. " It's hard to judge what to do about funnels. I wouldn't say you messed up just because things didn't go the way you wanted." She smiled warmly. " I went after the guy with the shield, thinking I could get around him with superior speed. I was wrong and it just lead to me bashing his shield over and over, but I had no way of knowing for certain that was what would happen. By the same token, you had no idea that going after the funnels first wouldn't work out, but you altered your tactics when you realized it wasn't going well. I just kept bashing away. I'd say I messed up and you were amazing."

Jenna looked away and let the hum of the lift fill the silence, deep contemplation making her face seem sober. There just had to be something for her to improve upon. It only frustrated her that she couldn't think of one. "I guess. . . " she said after a moment.

Lira let out a sigh that was partly masked by the lift doors sliding open. Walking with Jenna down the hall, she tried to think of something to say to cheer her team mate up. She just couldn't understand why the other woman seemed so down. " It's too bad we were geared for a gravity field, if we had been properly equipped for zero g combat, we probably would have taken the whole team down in no time."

Jenna's mood lifted dramatically at the mention of the zero gravity gear. It wasn't really a reason to improve, but she hadn't thought of it before and that excited her for some reason. Briefly forgetting that they were going somewhere, she stopped walking as she spoke, "That's right! We need to make sure we're ready next time."

Claude frowned a bit at the mention of not knowing a repair time. "I see. Well then, I'll be at the cantina. Assuming that hasn't been removed from the ship of course." He headed off down the hall, pulling his long hair out from the compartment at the top of the back of his suit. He entered the cantina and chose a spot near the bar but not actually at the bar. He set his helmet down on the table, then looked up to see two other people, presumably pilots from how they were dressed. He sat quietly while he waited for the bartender, eying the other two up to get an idea of which MS was who's. He suddenly noticed that the white-haired man looked familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. He gave up when the bartender arrived though, and he ordered his favorite drink. Anti-freeze.

Lira had already taken three more steps before she realized Jenna was no longer besides her. Stopping short, she turned to face the now excited pilot. " We we'll certainly try to be," she said, smiling.
Claude was suddenly aware of two people flanking him, identical blue haired young women with big green eyes, staring unabashed at him. One of them leaned over to peer at his drink with a raised eyebrow, and the other reached out with a finger and poked him, tapping a bit of the armor fused to his body as if to confirm it was real. They both regarded him with curiosity equal to that of a small child, but with none of the timidness.
