On a nearby roof, Dreth was watching intently. He was torn between a wanting to cheer, and a wanting to stay quiet. "Ah hell with it, go for the win!!!" He shouted before promptly falling off the roof to land with a thud.
He got up and grogily shook his head, noticing that one of the things was coming at him. "Hey, there's somthing wrong with you....huh?" Instead of responding it tried to stab him with the knife it was holding. He side stepped and stuck out his foot, letting it trip. He drew one of the sabres and stabbed it to death.
"There really was somthing wrong with it...." He made his way around the battle field, lazily swiping at the creatures and dodging their hits. He ducked one swipe and had his hat knocked off his head before he stood up and lopped the thing's head off. He bent over, unnkowingly dodging a swipe from another one and picked up his hat. He put it back on while the hand with the sabre split his attacker's arm down the middle.

Watching the ranger work, Galius smirked at the frenzied attacks. So little control, so much fury. His bladework was good, but his attacks were innaccurate. A skilled warrior would be trouble. But then again, he was a ranger, he probably didn't fight hand to hand all that much. As more of the men began to pour from the alleys, Galius knew that he had to step in. They were coming from the back too.
Quickly raising his blades, he took to the ranger's back. The oncoming onslaught was just a rage. The pale men had no swordsmanship, no skill, they were just fanatics. Galius tossed his blade into the air, reversing his grip and holding the blade backwards. Slicing through the first man's head, he slammed his other blade into the necks of two others, passing right through them. He side-stepped the next attack, severing the man's arm and elbowing him in the chin, sending him to the ground. Pulling free his blade from the two men who started to fall, he crossed his blades and caught the attack of another, who he sent spinning with a quick twist of his blades. Galius calculated his every attack, his speed far greater than those attacking him. Without a second chance, they were cut down, one after another.
Finally they stopped coming, but within a few moments, a large, powerful pale man came from the alley, swinging a massive club, what looked like a support beam, and with a sweeping blow, struck for Galius. Galius ducked it and rolled to the side avoiding another strike downward. However, the large lopping swings were putting him out of position to get in close. Sheathing his blades, Galius pulled his bow, firing an arrow right at the man's head. The arrow struck true, but the man did not fall, only kept attacking. Galius rolled backwards, firing another arrow as he flipped to his feet. This arrow struck the man in the neck, and he began to slow. Wasting no time Galius jumped over a low swing of the club, and propelling himself off of it, severed the man's head cleanly off. He shook his head, angry he let himself get out of position, but focused upon the more important matter.
Turning around as the attack seemed to be ending, he checked the ranger's progress...

((OOC: I'm gonna let the other characters have a little fun with these guys, seeing as they haven't yet really had the chance, so I won't do much with this post))
As Galius leaped in at his back, Servios felt much more secure in his position, and so eased up on his attacks. He came out of his frenzy with many lying dead or dying beneath him. Now that he was not so pressed he could fight with his head and not so much his rage.
The ranger glanced to the side when he had an opening to do so and saw quite the curious sight. A seemingly disoriented and possibly drunk dark elf, stumbling through the battle, hacking at this and slicing at that. Servios let out a laugh at the sight, for it was strange indeed. He seemed to be getting along alright though, and so the ranger Justeem ((Servios' last name)) turned away and back towards the fight. The enemies still pressed hard, but now that he need not worry about his back he easily determined their movements, and had them countered before they even began. It was good indeed that these things were dumb and untrained, for if these were all skilled warriors, it is likely that the tavern would be overrun, and the good people of this place would be lying dead on the ground.
Still, there were many of them around the tavern, and well trained or not, the ranger had seen stronger places overrun by sheer force of numbers...

Karsten's hands gripped his axes tighter as the reaper sensed the now surfaced demon in the strange girl from before. The girl seem to have control over it as she hadn't harmed any of the patrons. He said out loud, "Everybody remain here till these beings are gone. We... are Karsten." It seemed to Karsten that the reaper wanted the people to know that there was something more than just a human protecting them today. A little hope usually went a long way to keep people from panicking in such bad situations and against such odds.
He could now hear a lot more people fighting outside. "Whatever your name is, come and help me drive these out", he said to the demon girl. He then nodded at the guard as he was retrieving his weapon. "Hold the people who get by us at the door. Dont let them in at any cost!" He was giving orders like he was in-charge but he hoped no one would argue about it at a time like this.
The souless ones were fast but not fast enough to avoid his attacks. He stuck one that was approaching him with the spike on one of his axes and used the other one to decapitate it.

*oh dammit >.< i thought you hadn't replied to that so I deleted it because I wanted to try again... blast >.< my fault completely... EDIT: ok, lets do this*
Carella looked up... she didn't particularly want to get involved, but the sight and knowledge that there was an angelic reaper in the room made her think it best to listen. Or at least do something to keep him away from her. And besides, simply watching those humans go to waste to some religious fanatic's dimwitted plans would be such a pain...
Rising slowly, the demon took over, her frontal canines elongating into medium-sized fangs, negative energy slowly revolving about her presence. Her breath froze the air upon which it came into contact, creating small clouds about her as she put the knife away. She'd been watching and thankfully ignored until now. One of them foolish enough to mistake her for a simple human attacked, boring a dagger into the back of Carella's head. At first, a look of shock overcame her, then she slowly turned, her eyes glowing. "Big mistake" her gravelly voice stated frankly, right before the man's body was torn apart where he stood. Cracking her neck, she continued on out the door where the battle was raging.
The leader had already fled, but Carella could smell his unholy stench; turning to the reaper, she asked as kindly as she could "Would you mind removing this from me? It will only be of an annoyance later on... If you wish it, I will find the leader. I can still smell one of my own on him." Carella wasn't one to hunt her own kind, but she still hated it when devils and demons entered contracts with humans, if only because it reminded her of her mother...

Dreth was actually starting to get serious now. Not because someone took charge, heavens no! One of them had made a slit in his hat! He had both sabres out now, and was actively attacking the creatures. One actually thought that he had made the cut too short before it's head fell off.

Karsten was glad she hadn't been one he would have to fight. The reaper in him could sense the energy around her. He placed his hands on the dagger and pulled it cleanly out with causing any further damage. As he did this he said to her, "I can sense him as well. I know of this particular demon. He was intrumental in the killing of the angels. Even with the power you have you cannot take him alone for the simple reason that your negetive energy will not have as much effect as would that of mine. But his time will come soon enough."
The reaper kept it to himself what it would cost to Karsten when he did face this demon. He could see three more people fighting in a distance. "Lets just help them clear these creatures for now", he told her. He would stay close to her as he obviously didn't trust her. He would have to watch her in case he had made a mistake by teaming up with the demon.

Galius entered the bar to check on Bernie and the patrons. The nearby demon, obviously the girl from earlier, and the man with the trenchcoat were finishing off the men. Something about the man in the coat stood out to Galius. The man was much more imposing, and despite Galius having no powers of his own, he could sense a furious power emanating from the man. Something about him made Galius on guard. He didn't trust him, not one bit.
Checking on Bernie, who was fine, clutching a blade of his own, as if ready to take on the pale men himself, Galius knelt down to check one of the barmaids, who was injured as the men entered.
"She' okay Galius... Any idea who those men were?" Bernie said.
Galius shook his head, and turned from the barmaid, and looked at Forman.
"I'm fine, Galius. A strike to my pride." He said.
Galius moved to the door, and checked the corpses of the men, there was nothing besides the blue crosses on their foreheads. Why would they attack the bar? Was this a plot of deeper thought, or just a cult of maniacs? Either way, he had a distinct feeling that it was not over. He thought about laying a crusade on them, but upon further thought decided it was futile. Perhaps this fight would end their hopes to cause harm to Bernie's. He didn't want to start a crusade, he didn't care for being a knight in shining armor.
He looked to both the demon and the trenchcoated man, and then took post on the wall. Forman nodded.
"Stayin' for the day, eh Galius?"
Galius nodded.

Servios sheathed his scimitar and dagger and climbed up to the balcony where he had left his bow earlier. He reached up and retrieved it, and fell back to the street. Then he made is way into the bar with the others after they had slain the last of those foul men. He has covered in blood, though none of it was his own.
"I am glad to be in such good company" the ranger said, eying each of the warriors in turn. He felt small by comparison, they all seemed more powerful, more fearsome than the average sized, merely human ranger. He was not intimidated in the least, but he felt the power emanating from the two people in front of him, could see the fiercely skilled warrior in Galius, saw the massive power of Forman. He was in good company indeed, though he did not seem to belong, and this clearly showed on his face.
"I thank you all for your help" he said, his face still grim as he started to feel less and less like he belonged with them. *Bah, you did well! Likely saved a lot of lives today*... thats what he told himself, and it was enough to bring a chuckle from his lips... "I think I need a drink..."

Before she had a chance to do anything, the fight was over. The demon growled, obviously annoyed to have had nearly no action at all. And now that she had awakened, the demon was hungry as well... A simple plate of food would not satisfy this hunger, either. She needed flesh, and soon, or things could get ugly. But it obviously could not be here...
She looked longingly over to the reaper. Even if he did not permit it, she would search for her prey, but she would rather like to know that he wouldn't be attacking her and interrupting her meal, or worse. Her yellow marble-like sockets glowed slightly, the demon conveying her wishes mentally, the woman not even needing to say a word. And good thing too, for like the one they called Galius, she simply chose not to speak often...

As the reaper heard the demon's request he turned around to look at her, considering what to do with her. He obviously couldn't let her loose in the city now that he had found her. He couldn't kill her specially since she had offered to help with the attack. The reaper for once was not sure about what to do. Karsten proposed something to the reaper that he reluctantly agreed to.
You have two choices, you either have to fight me or agree to feed under my supervision. The reaper she would pick the first choice while Karsten hoped she would pick the second. After all, Karsten wasn't sure how the battle would go for once since the reaper had been with him, seeing the power she emanated before.
He had not yet kept back his weapons as he waited for an answer. He was now totally ignoring all the others around him looking at the girl with the same emotionless face he had kept throughout the attack. It meant that the reaper was still in control.

Carella slunk back... she hated people watching her feed, but fighting an agent of heaven was something she left up to the stronger demons... only being a third-class demon meant that she was one of the weaker classes, but not necessarily completely useless... After considering for a long few minutes, the demon adverted Carella's eyes in obvious disgust, feeling childish for having to be supervised in feeding as such; she'd done fine in the past, hiding her tracks well enough so as not to be found. True, she had only started feeding as such not long ago, but she was a skillful hunter which held herself at high esteem, unlike the mindless bottom-races that seemed to be running the city more and more, or the zombified mobs that had attacked her in the first place, who's collective flesh was disgusting to her mouth and tastes due to whatever poison or agent that was introduced into their systems upon conversion...
Finally making half-eye contact with the reaper, the demon stated We shall submit... however, as such, we expect not to have our prey chosen for us... We are picky eaters, and those disgusting abominations of sub-humanity cause our stomach to vomit. Please at least let us choose that much... So far we have not caused too much of a problem, and we do not expect to do so at all. Hunger be our only driving force here, and that is all it is. Turning for the door, she awaited her... escort, childishly enough, growing more impatient by the second...

Galius looked around the bar. The demon and the man in the trenchcoat continued to converse, seemingly without speaking. The patrons were still shaken up from the whole ordeal, many quickly sought the back rooms to forget their troubles. Forman was wrapping his wounds, and Bernie was picking up the damage done to the bar. Nothing was seriously out of place. Bernie's had survived the attack, but further attacks may not see so many to defend it. Galius wondered what was going to be in tow for the bar.
Bernie walked over to Galius.
"Ever dependable. Thanks Galius. But... You know, I can't pay you for staying here out of your shift..." he said, reluctantly.
Galius looked up, looking Bernie right in the eyes. He waved his hand through the air, and then grinned. He would do this for free. After all, without Bernie, Galius might be another worthless scrub on the street, killing the locals for coin. He didn't know what he'd be. Bernie was the closest thing Galius ever had to a father, and he'd be d**ned if anyone took down this bar while he still lived. If anyone was going to harm Bernie, or the bar, it would be over Galius' cold, dead body...
Bernie smiled, and patted him on the shoulder.
"Good then, boy-o." He let out a deep belly laugh, "Everyone can relax, the great Galius decided to stay!" he said, teasing him.
Galius lowered his head, he tried to hide the chuckle, but he couldn't...

We agree on one condition, it will not be an innocent of the city. An evil being is never too hard to find in this city. As long as you don't harm the innocent, you will never find us hunting you. he replied as he continued to stare at her. This demon was an anomaly in the city, a demon with good intentions. So where was the evil angel? Either she was a faker or there was an angel still alive in this world, in this city, that that evil within it.
He looked at the injured maid. An angel would have been able to heal her. But he was not one. He looked around the bar once and walked out behind the girl surrendering the control back to Karsten's mind.
"So what is your name?", it was Karsten who spoke from behind her, finally putting back his axes under his coat.

Servios saw the other two leave, and though he did not know what it was, he sensed there was some other business between the two. They were not completely human, as were many in the city these days, but they had helped in the fight, and that was good enough for him to trust them, for now at least. After they were out the door the ranger turned his gaze to Bernie and Galius for he had must talk with them about these developments.
"Good to see you again Bernie" and he and Servios shook hands, for the ranger used to come here often a few years back, until he had taken up a guard position at an inn on the west side of the city. "And Galius" he said turning to the well respected warrior "We have not had the chance to formally meet, though I have heard much of you" and he said this with a smile "I am Servios Justeem, originally from Valbasin though I have resided here for almost ten years now. Again I thank you for your help outside" but his face turned into a grimace as he spoke his next words.
"I fear this is not the end of these attacks. As you know Bernie, I left for the inn of Ellias, on the west side of the city, a few years ago. Well a few days ago while I was off duty the inn was attacked, and by the time I got there the place was in ruin. Most of the patrons of the place were either gone or lay dead, but I found Elias still alive, though barely, and he told me what had happened. It mirrors the situation we found here tonight, only that we had some better help," and Servios offered a wink at Galius for that "I traveled to another inn to warn them before I came here, and did so, they will hopefully be able to hold out, they have many strong warriors there. I was on my way here to tell you of these events when I witnessed what was going on, and acted before they could, but I fear they will attack again, and likely in more force than before. That is only a guess of course, but I believe there is something larger at work here than any of us know."
The ranger looked at each of the men in turn as he finished, not knowing where to go next...
