May awoke on top of Jason, a most awkward position... at least it would be if he were awake. "Come on, dammit! Wake up!!" May screamed, but he never responded. Looking back, she saw the ghost, and between it and her was the camera, laying just in the doorway of the room... No... really? Could it be...
Lurching backwards, May lunged for the camera as the ghost came at her, screaming something she couldn't quite understand. As soon as she'd grabbed hold of it, May turned over, took aim, and snapped the shutter....
A loud *POP!* could be heard as the tiny flashbulb went off with the camera, and May heard the ghost writhing in pain. Now she could make out the words as the female phantom disappeared to reposition; "Who are you... get out! Get out of my house!!"
Seeing her reappear across the room, May took aim again and pulled the button... She saw in the sight a small light that said *DE*, and the camera wouldn't work. Fumbling around for a second, May pulled another slide out of her back pocket, replacing the spent one and stuffing it in her other back pocket as she slammed the back shut. Just as she got it up and aimed, the ghost was nearly upon her, and as it charged at her, the face turned grisly and extremely horrifying. May simply stated "Rest in piece... again..." as she snapped the shutter...
Again the ghost disappeared, but this time May had a feeling that it was gone for good. Reloading the camera, she looked up at where the ghost had been... a distortion of some kind seemed to float in midair above her, but May didn't get any freezing feelings from it. Taking one more snapshot just for good measure, the distortion disappeared. With the danger gone, May's unnatural curiosity took over... who was that lady? She didn't look as old as the house, and she was certain that she had been wearing more modern clothing, maybe something from the 50's or so... She needed to find out; opening up the camera, May flipped open the protective covering for the last photo, which at first glance didn't seem to give much away. As she looked harder, however, she could just make out the girl from before, but without ropes on her arms, and standing next to a man she didn't recognize at all... Oddest of all, it looked more like a snapshot of a snapshot... May knew what needed to come next.
Getting back down on her hands and knees, having somewhat completely forgotten about Jason, she searched underneath every piece of furniture in the room... again... This time, under one of the bedside tables she found that same photograph, which had aged surprisingly well and was still bendable in May's hands, as if the picture had aged many years but the paper itself hadn't aged much of a day... 'Stephan... Now we have a starting point...'

Jason woke up with a headache. It went away quickly enough though. He suddenly remembered what had happened. He looked around and didn't see May anywhere. He panicked until he checked the room again. There she was looking at something in her hand.
"Hey May, where did the ghost go? And please tell me there is something special about that camera you have with you...why you keep going after it?" It had been too exciting a day today. It seemed to him his mind had gone numb as he didnt feel scared anymore.

May quickly stuffed the picture in her pocket; no need further scaring Jason with her other stories. "The ghost? I think she's at peace now... hopefully for good. And the camera... let me leave it at a hunch, and that I was right." She pulled out the slide that showed Jason with the ghost behind him, and handed it to him. "This thing seems to be able to catch ghosts on whatever film it uses, sorta like holding a piece of paper with a secret message on it in order to read what it says; in this case, the camera snaps shots of the ghost, even when we can't see it... or something to that effect."
She smacked the back a few times before it finally closed, then added "What all that means is that we can fight ghosts with it, in a sense. God... I'm beat..." She wanted to figure out more of the house, but May was just too beat to explore much more. Maybe tomorrow after school... Besides, it was beginning to look like evening then, which meant that tomorrow was that much closer for her... "Its getting late it seems... You should probably get going home before you get in trouble or whatever... Sorry about all this mess." Really, though, the only thing she could think about was How the hell am I gonna fix this door here?

He smiled as he saw the photograph May showed him, "Wow, charming. And really, I should be sorry about the mess... and the door. I am sure you would have wanted to keep it locked before you went to sleep. Doesn't look like thats gonna happen now." She had mentioned about him heading home. He didn't think he would mention anything about his twisted life back home.
He would take any excuse to stay out of his home, especially at night. His mom, in her drunk state most of the time, would sometimes have a bum tag along with her back home and... well, his mom thought that he should stay away those nights or he was bound to kill someone. So he would as much as he could. He had a mattress on the roof of the school, something he had 'borrowed' from the infirmary one night, where he would usually spend a restless night. Nobody knew this about him, and he wanted to keep it that way. Although, Tom, the gatekeeper at the school always wondered how Jason always snuck in to the school premises without him finding out. He would only go home after school, in the evening, when he knew his mom was sober enough to feed him something.
"I hope you are not planning on telling your mom about this little episode. If you did, I might have to come visit you at a mental hospital next time..." he said joking. "Anyway, take care of yourself May. It was nice meeting you." He didn't extend his hand this time. He was extremely depressed but was trying very hard not to show it to her. He walked out the door, almost in a hurry and started to walk away from the mansion and its new residents.

May felt a little hurt... had she scared him away? She sensed pain in his voice and actions, something she had a knack for doing; she'd known deep, nearly suicidal depression before, but she hid it as well as she could from everyone, especially her own mother. Before she could stop him, however, he was out the door and gone. Concentrate on the moment she told herself, turning back to the laptop as she got ready for a fairly good night of work. Usually she hated working, but for some reason she was all pumped-up about this...
Using her cell phone, she took a picture of the picture in the best light she could (that photography class a year or so ago was going to come in real handy here soon), then took shots of the other picts she'd gotten with the weird ghost-busting camera, including the one that had shown her that there was a photo of the rope girl. Uploading all the picts to her email, she used a bookmarked image site to host them, then logged onto the site where she'd met Raven, aka Stephan. Printing out the links in a PM, she added a message to them:
"savate_champ: Are ya stuck? Try these... I'll tell ya how I got them tomorrow, but the long-haired freaky-eyed chick is a new one. For now, I'm too tired to explain anything again T_T anyways, hope you have some good luck with them as I'm heading off to bed for now!! thanks for listening to me and my crazy-ass story... stick around a while longer and you might get more of these X3
<links>
PS: I found something you might find useful as well... if you're any good with tech you might be able to help me get it a bit more modernized... again, tell ya tomorrow!"

"Raven: I'm not totally stuck, and I've found some interesting information.....I'll tell you tomorrow as you hardly need this information just before bed. I'll be up for another hour researching. By the way, where did you get the pictures?"

"savate_champ: the old one i found under a wardrobe in some room of our house. funny place to leave a photo like that... as for the rest... I'd have to show you... You might like this just trust me when I say they're genuine; if you could at least find out who that freaky ghost lady is, i'd be grateful for that much. As for the old photo, i have a feeling that we'll be at this for a while... and I'm sorry for the sh**sy resolution, but i don't have a scanner... cell phone camera was the best I could do..." May shut the computer down after sending the message, wondering if she really could get any sleep at all. God only knew how many more of them there were in her house... what if another one decided to attack her while she slept? May decided against thinking on it and made her bed, plopping down on it and falling asleep almost instantly...

Jason really wanted to go home today and sleep in his own bed, for once. It had been an exciting day and he was tired. As he neared his home, he saw his mom was home, as he reached for the door, he heard a man's voice. He stopped, never ringing the bell or trying the door. He turned around disgusted, then thought of something and went to the window in his room. He climbed in, not caring whether they could hear him or not. He picked up a few things, stuffed them in a bag and climber out. If his neighbours didn't know the situation already, they would have called the cops thinking he was a thief.
He was more furious than depressed now. Kicking up things on his way to the school. He climbed over the main gate and entered the school. The part of the roof which was his second home now, was inaccessible except to him. It had taken quite a bit of effort to get a mattress up there but he had been, still was desperate. Lying down on his 'bed', he tried to calm himself down so he could sleep. He looked up, staring into the darkness eventually falling asleep.
He woke up again for the 5th time that night. It was early morning already. The sun hadn't risen yet. He gave up trying to go back to sleep and got up. Making his way to the showers, he quickly got ready before the janitor or Tom, the guard, showed up. Walking out the back, he made his way around the buildings to the front gate to see some kids walking slowly towards the school.

Stephan got up, got dressed, and started heading for the school. He didn't use a backpack, he just held a spiral notebook. He thought about it for a moment and apparently he figured that he had better things to do than wander around a school at seven in the morning. He walked off towards a cafe a few blocks down the street.

May stopped at the school gate, looking up at the large building in front of her. She didn't have that good of a sleep the night before, and she doubted that as long as the place was still haunted she'd ever get one. Things just seemed to be getting worse by the hour, and May didn't have a clue what to do about it all. She sighed, taking another swig of the energy drink she'd gotten to keep herself awake, then passed the gates. In her school uniform, she didn't look that different from any other kid, besides the faint scar or two that showed on her face. It wasn't long before she felt someone watching her, something she'd gotten used to over the years, but whoever these people weren't watching her just because...
(sry for the big jump ahead... if you want to fill in stuff before this point in time feel free :3)
Fourth period had passed not long ago and May was on her way to lunch when she sensed several people coming up behind her. By the time she'd turned around to face them, two of them had already grabbed her by the arms, pushing her up against a nearby locker. The way she was stuck there left her open and unable to fight back; May wasn't used to fighting multiple people at once. "Well, aren't you the cute one?" one of them said behind her, laughing under his breath. She couldn't see him, but May could still feel what he was doing; with no one around, the guy started feeling her up.
She would have screamed or something, but one of them had his hand firmly over her mouth, the other his kept her jaw from opening; obviously, they'd had girls bite them before, and didn't want her doing that. She tried struggling, but May could barely move an inch, caught in a vice grip between the two... "Awe... don't try wigglin' your way outta this one, cutie. Trust me, you'll like it before I'm done with you..." She could feel his hand slipping under her shirt now... god, this was all so disgusting...

Classes had started a while ago but Jason couldn't concentrate much. He hadn't slept well, as usual and couldn't help but doze off in the middle of the class. He was hoping to meet up with May but hadn't seen her the whole day. He was making his way to lunch, feeling very hungry. He hadn't eaten the whole day. As he walked in the main hallway, he realized the few kids that were walking, were avoiding the direct way to the cafeteria and were instead taking the longer route.
As he turned the corner, he saw six guys, seniors, gathered around near the lockers. Their hatred for each other was mutual having gotten into a lot of flights with them. He hoped to make it past them without them noticing. He was in no mood to pick a fight right now. As he was walking past them, he glanced sideways to see what was it that held their attention. He stopped in his tracks as he saw the horror unfolding in front of him. They were known to tease girls around the school but this time they had gone too far. He received another shock when he saw it was May who was trapped between these animals.
He lost it right then, charging into the group, shoulder tackling the guy into the lockers who was feeling her up. Jason was a brawler but he had been in enough fights to know what worked and what hurt. The guy he had tackled slammed into two of his friends holding her up. Pushing the two on the other side, he freed May from their grips. She stumbled and fell to the ground. He said quickly, "Go..." before the one guy he had forgotten about punched him in the chest knocking him back into the lockers behind him.
As the six guys recovered, he realized he wasn't in the best of situations. They knew better than to take him one on one, so they were going to gang up on him. They charged at him but he quickly moved out of the way taking hold of the first one and pulling with all his strength slamming his head into the locker. He was knocked out instantly and fell to the ground.
By the time, he hit the ground, two of them had grabbed him while the others tried to swing at him. He kicked one of them in the knee as he stepped closer to hit his face. He fell down holding his knee, screaming. The other two connected, with a knee int his stomach and a punch to the face. He could taste blood in his mouth now. With a sudden move, he tried to free his hands from the grip. One of them was taken by surprise and let go of his hand. He swung it at one of them hoping desperately to connect... and it did, pretty hard. It would be sometime before he would be able to see through that eye again. There were still three more guys going at him. As the pain increased, he realized he wont be able to take this much longer. In reality, he was just buying time, hoping someone would tell the guards what was happening.

As soon as she was free, May acted on instinct more than training; turning into a pivot, she let loose a savage elbow into the stomach of one guy in her way. Clearing a path after knocking him down, she immediately made haste down the hallway when she was grabbed from behind, her shirt getting pulled fairly hard and the fingers breaking her bra strap. Stopping so as not to trip herself, May turned and unleashed a strong, level back kick, connecting with the guy's stomach, sending him sprawling backwards as he yelped in pain and surprise.
May didn't know the school very well, so she had to stop a few times to look up directions; all she could really think about at the moment was Jason and how he was getting the crap beaten out of him. It was about then that she saw several officers rushing past, heading back where she'd just come from... Was there a camera back there? Then that means... the whole thing is on tape! A bit of a good feeling rushed through her, but then she realized that they were probably going to arrest Jason too... Oh no... he was the one helping me! I gotta stop them!

Within a few minutes, Jason was in a pretty bad shape. They were furious, and they were taking it out on him. His shirt had blood all over it. They were now taking turns, two of them holding him up while the rest went to work on him. He his nose was bleeding and he had a cut on top of his left eye. He wasn't sure, but he was afraid one of his ribs might be broken. Any this rate, if help didnt come soon, they would break more than one.
Amidst all the shouting and cursing, and the ringing in his ears, he heard a glass break. He looked up to see one of them approaching him with a broken glass in his hands. His eyes went wide with shock as he realized he was actually thinking of using that on him. Even his other friends looked unsure. If Jason died, they would be in a lot more trouble than just a suspension or eviction.
"You have interfered with us for the last time...", he told him smiling but then paused when he heard running footsteps approaching. "Oh sh**, security!" They all ran. As Jason fell down on his knees, he bent over, resting one of his hands on the floor while he checked his chest with the other. Even though it hurt like hell, no ribs were broken. He saw some uniforms breeze past him chasing after the seniors. He also saw May, right behind them, getting closer. Her clothes were all messed up but it didn't look like she cared much.

Unfortunately they all ran streight in Stephan's direction. Even worse off he saw the guards running behind them. He stood in the middle of the hallway and one moved to tackle him on the way past. He was the one that got a hard right hook to the side of the face. The guy spun before hitting the ground, and stephan managed to get another one square in the face with a kick before the rest ran past. He figured he may as well check who the victims of whatever happened were. He was almost surprised to see that it was Jason. May was nearby as well. "What happened? It looks like they did a number on you. You piss off their leader? Because I think I kicked his nose in while he was running towards me."

Jason looked around to see Stephan walk towards him. He started to answer him, "Well..." *cough*, but he realized he couldn't as he was too short of breath. So he just leaned back and sat on the floor, with his back to the dented locker. His body was hurting all over and no position was comfortable enough.
