"I say considering our injuries going on straight to our destination without rest may very well be suicide," Jason said, continuing to watch how Chris and Karina walked. Neither of them appeared to be slowing down at all, which meant their injuries weren't bothering them an inordinate amount. But still, he'd feel better if they rested before the boats.
"We can take turns on sentry duty if we do decide to stop and rest for the night," he said. "That way, none of us are completely deprived of sleep. But as far as sentries go, our most useful asset isn't human... we'd have to take the gag off of Tito during the night." It was a calculated risk, but Jason would rather the dog be able to warn them if bad guys entered their camp than be unable to howl at the moon randomly.

They were almost half way there if he remembered it correctly. Of course, owing to the condition he was in when he did make the journey. He stopped after a while and took a deep breath, smelling the sea water next to them as he did so. He looked back and spoke, "If we are to stay for the night, we need to to stay as far away as possible with the target of reaching the boats my nightfall tomorrow. Its only a bit more after which we would need to turn into the forest. So the question is should we rest out here in the open next to the sea or in the forest?"
He felt too exhausted to be able to even give his opinion, so he thought he would just go along with what the others decided.

Jason looked around. He was no expert on terrain, but he knew that the two choices were both equally bad... stay out in the open where the cannibals could just take them out with arrows or blowdarts or whatever, or go into the forest and risk actually running into a hunting party. "I'd suggest the forest," he finally said. "It's closer to the enemy, but it'll give us the possibility of cover during an attack, plus we have a chance to hear our enemies coming if they walk carelessly." He looked to Chris, Karina and Rosy. "Am I correct in assuming that everybody's completely out of ammo?" he asked.

((Rosy?? XD))
LJ nodded cluelessly. She had no idea what was going on. After the discussion with the dog, she had toned everyone out as she reflected on the past few events. It would take her a while to fully understand that O'Connell was gone.

"Yeah, I think I'm done for now with the whole fighting thing. The forest sounds great, Jason." She was starting to get tired, and though her ankle was getting better, it was beginning to throb painfully again. She was amazed at how the doc seemed to know everything, and was so good at staying calm, dealing with facts and occurances. Karina watched LJ for a moment, wondering if she would ever be truly okay after the ex-Marine had passed on, and still felt sorry for the girl. But Chris hadn't completely won her over yet, and the whole 'leave the dog behind cause he might act up' thing didn't go well with her. The part dog, part wolf canine had been help to the group of survivors more than once, and it listened extremely well. She frowned, remembering his look as they set off, and glanced at him again, calling Tito closer to her side.

(LOL, I screw up ONE TIME and she catches it within seconds. ) Jason watched Karina as she called Tito over, frowning in confusion. Who was she protecting the creature from? Chris and LJ had, albeit reluctantly, acquiesced to her insistence that they bring Tito along. He shrugged it off as just one of those things about women that he would never understand. He did want to talk to Karina tonight, though. There was something between them that needed to be worked out.

Chris looked back stretching his back as it seemed to get a sore the way he was walking with the injured leg. He just happened to glance at Jason as he did and followed his gaze to Karina. He guessed they probably want to talk alone. He turned to look at Karina and saw the look she was giving him. Somehow she had picked up on the idea that he had not given up trying to get rid of Tito and seemed to be protecting him.
He looked at LJ and called her, "Come on LJ, we will look of a place inside the forest to rest for the night." He was giving Jason the chance to stop Karina from following and sort out something that was growing to be a complicated situation, complicated for him anyway.

"Uh... sure..." LJ said uncertainly, taking a few moments to catch on. She followed Chris into the forest, secretly enjoying being alone with him.
"So... What do you do hobby-wise?" she asked suddenly, a very interested look on her face. She was completely aware of how random the question was, but she needed conversation. Something to distract her.

He smiled at her innocent question not minding it. He had just realized that probably talking with LJ was what he needed to get his mind of things if just for a few minutes and relax. He looked back and was satisfied that he was out of range of anything they would talk in a normal tone but not far enough that they wouldn't hear if they shouted for help.
He leaned against a tree to rest his leg, cringed for just a moment. He looked up at LJ and smiled before speaking, "Me? I play football in college, read, music etc." He paused before asking, "So May...", he used her name, what she had told him when he had just joined the group, "... you remember anything else about yourself? Maybe your hobbies? Boyfriend?" He thought this would also get her mind off Sully.

"I think they're leaving us alone together intentionally," Jason told Karina. "Maybe we should take advantage. So... what is going on exactly? Between us, I mean?" He had absolutely no idea how Karina really felt about him, so putting it all out there like this might not be the best idea. Still, it was all he could think to do.
(Wow. I just thought of that post on the spur of the moment... came out better than I thought it would.)

Karina had turned to Jason after the other two left, but now she stood stunned at his question, her cheeks slowly starting turn pink. "Um..." She blinked and half-turned from him, embarrassed that he wanted to talk about how they felt, yet she was also wondering about how he felt with her. "I...I don't know. I'm not sure that I can answer that..." Still not facing him, she reached back to untie her hair, and begana untangling it to unintentionally hide her face.

LJ almost jumped when she heard her name. She had nearly forgotten that she had told Chris and wasn't sure if she liked being called by it.
"I can remember just about anything. Its the details that are hazy," she started slowly, "I know for sure I don't have a boyfriend; I broke up with him before I left... Can't remember why, though." She paused a moment and leaned against a tree as well. "I know I liked to swim," she pointed to her shirt, "and I was good at it. But that's it."
((AHH RUNNING OUT OF TIME! WOOOOSH!))

"We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," Jason said, reaching forward as if to place a reassuring hand on her shoulder and then realizing that touching her might not be the best idea and thinking better of it. "I might even have completely misread the situation. I thought there was something there, but it's probably only on my end." Shut up now, York, he told himself in his head. She doesn't want to talk about it, remember?
