It was indeed a beautiful summer day, the early afternoon rays filtering down through the courtyard's canopies, some coming to rest upon the face of a young man who sat near the boundaries of the courtyard, absorbing the patches of light that played across his features. Today was a day of nothing for Xendor, something he didn't often experience; the Padawan took delight in the occasional time he took off of his general training and research.
Quiet voices were carried about the courtyard on the breeze, coming to his ears in snatches. He picked out the word Republic from among them, sending his mind into such a direction of thought.
In the Republic, now. That'll change a lot of things. At least I'll be able to get supplies more easily. He allowed himself a slight grin. Like nitrates. Maybe even some powdered aluminum. They have good stuff that comes off of Duro. Into the field of explosives, his latest work involved mixing elements for various sorts of rockets, although he was also looking into the construction of thermal detonators. Xendor was more concerned with lines of supplies than he was about what sort of company the Republican connections would introduce to Rehema, though he had to admit to himself that it would certainly affect how things worked around here. Probably have a higher measure of security in the communities, I shouldn't imagine. At least we'll be relatively left alone here in the Enclave.
Then his stomach uttered a growl, reminding him it was just about time for a meal. Xendor sighed, wishing to linger in the courtyard a little longer anyway.
