Manadhon just looked at her for a second. He didn't get much company either, so why...
"It's a tome of ancient weapons, storeholds, designs...things that a blacksmith or dwarf might want, not the Council," he said gathering his thoughts,"However, I guess they are hoping that the tome has the location of the Seven Chains that were used to seal the original demons away from Middle-Earth."
Manadhon looked to his horse again, noticing him still playing with the mare. He took another bite and continued after he swallowed.
"The Council says that the bindings on the seals are weakening, so they need those weapons..."

Nin nodded her head, thinking. Her head rested on her chin as she stared into the fire. Mishka's gleeful winnying could be heard in the background as she ran around Sleipnir.
"So...you're basically saying that there's a demon or some horrible beast that's going to break out, and only this book can help us to defeat them? Sounds like fun...In a way."
Nilyn looked up at Manadhon, barely meeting his gaze. She was still embarassed about hugging him; her emotions got the better of her. "So...when do we start? In the morning?"

Manadhon thought for a moment. He guessed it shouldn't be a problem.
"Yeah, we'll start in the morning. Those two should settle down in time," he said jerking his head towards the horses and finishing off the last of his dinner. He really didn't want to go anywhere near the Elven lands, let alone into them, but he figured it wouldn't be so bad with company.
He set his plate aside and walked away from the camp for a moment and looked up into the sky....

Nilyn yawned and stood, walking over to her pack. Pulling out a rough blanket of think wool, she curled up in it by the fire. "Wake me in the morning then. Mishka will be okay on her own out here; she won't run off, so don't worry about her. G'night."
With that, the young girl drifted off into sleep, for she was quick to slumber and quick to wake, like most Rangers. Her dreams took her to far lands where Dragons breathed fire and the earth was alive with red rivers of molten rock. She whimpered once in the night, a frown on her dreaming face, before going to more peaceful dreams.

Manadhon's own dreams took him to a world of ice and snow where gigantic white wolves stalked....him. He was running in his dream, but not far before one of the creatures appeared out of the snow and leaped for his throat.
Manadhon awoke with a start. It was early morning and the horses were nearby looking impatient. He looked over at his companion to see her still sleeping. He had no idea what that nightmarish place was, but it looked like it was time to get started. He got up from his blanket and shook Nilyn...

Nin opened her eyes, and expecting Mishka's black face instead of Manadhon's, she jumped back alittle before coming to her senses.
"Good morning. Sleep well?" She stretched, then packed away the blanket. She turned and watched the horses while trying to flatten her unruly short hair. "They appear to be enjoying themselves, aren't they?" She said after Mishka trotted up to Sleipnir and tugged some of his mane hairs gently in greeting before grazing beside him.

Sleipnir bumped his side against Mishka and continued grazing after that little greeting. They really did appear to get along well. Something that Manadhon was actually a little confused about.
"Not really," he said answering Nilyn's question and turning to starting to pack up his own stuff. He pulled out some bread and cheese he had gotten while in the city and started eating it after putting his stuff away. He really didn't have much.
"Strange nightmares, again," he said as he down some cheese,"This happens everytime I get near those bloody elves."
He offered the remainder of his bread that he had pulled from his pack to Nilyn...

Nilyn declined his offer of the bread. "No thanks. I'm not hungry, so I'll eat later. I am sorry about the nightmares, though. I never really seem to remember my dreams, good or bad."
She sighed, watching the sun rise in the east and the cooling embers from the previous day's fire. "Shall we get going? I'd rather ride now in the cool of the morning than later in the heat of the day."

Manadhon shrugged and put away what was left of his rations. He whistled once in astrange high pitch fashion and Sleipnir came right up to him. He quickly saddled him and put everthing in its proper place. He mounted as he looked over to see if Nilyn was ready....

Mishka followed Sleipnir when he was called, and she stood calmly while Nilyn saddled her. Within five minutes, the two were ready, and Nilyn nodded to Manadhon from atop her black steed. "Do we have to cross the river any time during our journey into the Elven Lands?"

Sleipnir started into a trot after a slight nudge from Manadhon's heels.
"Yes, we're going to have to cross it. We'll find a placed to ford it somewhere down river. For now let's just get to it," he said over his shoulder. He was also keeping a look out for more rabbits or something edible he could cook for dinner later.
Of course that left his mind all together when he noticed a black cloud in the sky....

(Sorry if I bump in, but is it okay if I join? If you say it is fine, I'll create the character, then come into history when you say... is it OK?)

((it's not my place to say. wait for saturnyne's answer.))
Nilyn and Mishka followed in Sleipnir's tracks, and rode alongside the male duo. "How far after the river do we need to travel?" Nilyn asked, also noticing the black cloud, and hoped it wasn't full of rain.

Manadhon looked at the cloud and back the female pair behind him. He didn't like being used, and it looked like he was being used for something big. Those black clouds were advancing fast and they made his insides feel as if they were frozen just looking at them. Even Sleipnir was a little skittish today, and he was a war horse.
"Normally, it would take us until night fall to reach Rivendell from here," he said, pausing only for a moment to look at the clouds once more,"But we don't have the luxury of time here. Those clouds aren't natural, look how fast there moving."
He didn't like elves, but if there was one thing he didn't like more than elves, it would be magic.
"How hard can you ride, Ranger," he asked looking at her with a smile....
