Artos noticed Hart moving and lowered his voice, "you don't have to be sorry Naurwen, it's not your fault I got dealt a bad hand. There was nothing I could do about about it." he made his voice a whisper, so only Naurwen could hear, " don't tell Hart, but I'm starting to understand some of what he said...I did what I could, and that some things happen for a reason, and that stuff. I may not know what it is, but there is one." Artos held his knees to his chest and looked at Naurwen, raising his voice a bit, "as for women driving men insane, I think it was just Camille, I knew plenty of women who cared very much very much, and could never drive a man to insanity. and as far as YOU go," he smiled a bit, " you Couldn't do anything like Camille, except cook, You're the exact opposite of her. She..." Artos sighed, "I shouldn't be talking about her like this...Camille's dead, she doens't deserve it," Artos lowered his head, and stared at the flickering light of the fire.

*Naurwen sighed and nodded.* "Maybe... But neither did you..." *She rolled over onto her back, linking her hands behind her head. She was silent for a moment, not at all sure of what to say. She wasn't so sure about what he said about her but she left it alone. She didn't need to worry about herself right now.* "Did you have enough to eat...?"

Artos smiled a bit, "yes I did, and I must compliment you, it tasted wonderful. I believe Hart would probably same the same, "he stared at Hart and chuckled, "if he could actually taste it, he always eats as fast as possible, but that's his way. So what time do you plan on racing him, when he eventaully wakes up?"

*Naurwen simply gave a soft laugh.* "I don't really care... I'll get him sooner or later so really it's up to him. I don't plan on losing to him... And honestly I'd probably die from heartbreak if I did." *She grinned, glancing over at the sleeping man.*

Artos grinned, and stared at Hart, "yeah, he can live with losing once, I don't think it'll kill him, I'll just have to watch what I say after he loses or else he might get kinda mad." he laughed soflty and layed back on the ground, staring up at the tree above him.

(((Arg... must... wake... up.. RP...character....... WHO NEEDS SLEEP?! [Certainly not Hart. ;D]))) Hart rolled onto his back and shoved his cape over his head in one last futile attempt to fall back asleep. Moments later there cam a muffled 'Erm.... you two are loud enough to wake the dead,' from the wad of crimson fabric near the tree. Hart pulled tha cape away from his head in frustration. 'Do you want me to stay awake. Because you can't say I didn't offer. Remember, I offered,' he gazed levelly at Naurwen. 'And you told me to sleep. So off I go to try to sleep and Artos goes off on a rant and then you two have some other discussion and you think you're all quiet but you're not.' Of course, he didn't really mean anything he was saying, and he hoped his tone made that clear. Hart didn't want to lose the only friends he had left. Actually, now that he thought about it, they were probably the only friends he had ever had. That also had a tendency to come with his job description, not having a great big bunch of friends for fear of getting a knife stuck in your back one day. Hart shrugged the thought off; he really wouldn't have lived any other way given the choice. Hart jerked and opened his eyes, realizing that in his though he had started to fall back asleep. he yawned and looked around blearily. Dismissing his previous problem, he flopped back down on the ground and curled up again. (((;D Sorry, Randomness... )))

"Sorry Hart," Artos laughed a bit, " didn't mean to keep you up." he yawned from boredom, and for some unknown reason, raised his hand in the air, and pointed at leaves on the tree, silently counting.

*Naurwen sat up, laughing at both of the men. Deciding it was best to just find something quiet to do for a while, Naurwen slowly got to her feet.* "I'm going further down the river for a little while... You two should stay right here until I get back. And get some sleep, Hart!" *She heard him grunt slightly in reply. She grinned a little, not sure any of them would be thrilled if either man caught her... With that, she set off, following the river about ten minutes away from the camp until she came to a fairly calm area. Taking another look around to make sure no one was coming, Naurwen quickly slipped out of her clothes, wading into the river. She submerged herself in it, washing away any remaining dirt from her travels. As she surfaced again, she ran a hand through her wet hair, brushing it away from her face. She then began rubbing her limbs, enjoying the feel of the cold water. No point in showing up in Rivendell dirty...*

Artos contined counting the leaves, " D**n, I lost count. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,.." and so one, reaching 30, " well this is certainly fun, "he said, standing and then pacing around the camp. " wish I had something to do, it be great if I had my horse, or if Hart didn't have to sleep." he sighed "nothing to do, no one to talk to, I can't climb anything cause of my shoulder, can't leave camp," Artos picked up a stick ,and twirled it in his fingers, 'man I'm bored.."

*After a while, Naurwen made her way back to the river bank. She sat down in the grass, wringing out her long hair. After relaxing there for a moment to let the air dry her body, she stood up, grabbing her tunic and pulling it on. Just when she went to reach for her pants, she heard something approaching from the road... Quickly, she ducked behind the nearest tree, hoping that it was at least just Artos or Hart. She could easily just yell at one of them and then be on her way. But if it was a total stranger, this would be a very awkward situation. Peeking around the tree, Naurwen's blue eyes widened at what she saw. A small group of orcs approached the river for a quick drink. Her heart pounding in her chest, Naurwen stayed as quiet as possible while pulling on her pants, listening to them.*
"We should stop somewhere soon! I don't want to be caught out here in broad daylight!"
"Not yet. He can't be much farther away. I'm starving!"
*Naurwen gasped when she realized who they had been tracking... She hadn't even thought about the prints and blood that Artos must have left on the road... The orcs turned at the noise and Naurwen fell silent again. She hoped that they wouldn't be able to catch her scent... Unfortunately, she wasn't that lucky. One orc came toward her to investigate. Before he could even see her, Naurwen's sword was thrust into his chest. As he crumpled to the ground, Naurwen took off running before the others could react. Her boots and belt clutched tightly to her chest, Naurwen thanked the Valar for her speed. She could hear the orcs scrambling after her but didn't dare to look back, putting as much distance between her and them as possible. As she neared the camp she began yelling.* "Orcs! Orcs are coming!"

*As Naurwen ran, she gave a sharp whistle. Rhovan came galloping across the road and into the camp, reaching it when Naurwen did. Knowing that it would still take a few minutes for the orcs to catch up, Naurwen quickly looked to Artos.* "Artos! You have to take Rhovan and get out of here! Hart and I can hold our own but I won't let you get hurt again!"

Liödaìn stood back up as she finished examining the ground before her. Liya leaned on her mount's neck as she asked, "What did you find?"
Liödaìn mounted her mare as she said in a tight voice, "Orcs. A whole band of them. Heading in..." She pointed where the river lay "that direction." She tossed her white locks over her shoulder as she looked at her dark haired companion.
Liya's blueberry eyes were narrowed into slits as she said, "How old are those tracks?" Liödaìn shrugged," Im not sure...But not more than a day old of that i'm sure." She added hastily at Liya's exasperated snort.
Both ladies gaze was where the tracks went, before in tandem their faces broke into wicked grins. Liödaìn pulled out her sword and Liya twirled her axe as they both broke out into a fast trot, heading blind towards the river. They say that fools rush in where angels fear to tread. But they do get the best seats. thought Liya briefly just as she caught a glimpse of the orcs.

Artos opened his mouth to say that he didn't want to leave them, but quickly decided against it, and closed it again, *It's better to listen to her, I'd just get in the way*. He climbed onto Rhovan's back, and looked down at Hart and Naurwen, "I'll see you soon." he said, and with that, Rhovan set off at a trot, and he left them behind.

'Orcs!! Orcs are coming!!!'
The wrods sliced through Hart's nice, warm, muzzy, blanket of sleep like a blade through flesh. His eyes flew open and he was on his feet in a flash, throwing his cape about his shoulders and fastening it swiftly.
'Where?!' Hart yelled, but Naurwen proceeded to usher Artos over to her horse and shoo-ing him away. Artos looked back and bid them farwell before spurring the horse forward. He had left just in time, as, by the sound of it, the creatures were almost upon them. Gritting his teeth, Hart drew out a dagger he kept strapped to his forearm under his shirt, before also drawing the knife he wore at his waist. Hart glanced at Naurwen with an impish grin and shrugged, 'Target practice?' he queried.
