((I don't really care about time period for this one so just join in if you want.))
*Naurwen's fiery blue eyes slowly opened, the pale light of dawn falling upon her ivory skin. With a sleepy smile, she slowly sat up, yawning softly. After taking a moment to stretch, she gently picked the autumn leaves from her hair. Crawling to the Loudwater River which lay close to her, she scooped some water into her hands, splashing it onto her fair face. After studying her reflection to make sure that it held no traces of dirt, she reached for her pack, taking out the berries that she had picked just yesterday. While she ate, the sound of hooves reached her elven ears. She looked out to the road where Rhovan was prancing about already, eager to be off again. Naurwen simply shook her head and smiled, going on with her meal. There was no rush to return to Imladris. For now she was content with sleeping on the ground and eating whatever she herself collected or made. Seeing that they weren't going anywhere just yet, Rhovan gave a disappointed snort before turning away to lazily nibble at some grass. Naurwen was just finishing her breakfast when another sound caught her attention... Someone was approaching...*

Artos weakly walked farther, hoping to soon find somebody and get help. *Flashback* Artos swung his sword around, barely stopping the orcs attack. He stabbed it, but not strong enough, the powerful orc attacked him and broke his sword, the blade stuck in its chest. From behind another came and pierced his shoulder. Yelling in pain, he kicked it away, and now weaponless, ran for his life. *end flashback* He had been walking for days, unwilling to let himself die, yet so close to it. he had to avenge his family, he had failed them, and he wouldn't rest till his job was done. Artos heard the distant stomping of hooves, and walked a bit faster, eager to meet whoever was there, and whether friend or foe, do whatever it took to convince them to help.

*Naurwen slowly got to her feet, hoping to get a better look down the road. Her elven eyes were met by the sight of a figure stumbling toward her, obviously injured. Her eyes widening slightly in suprise, Naurwen immediately ran to meet him. When she reached him, she noticed his wounded shoulder.* "Easy there... Let me help you..." *Not even waiting for him to say anything in reply, Naurwen quickly moved to his good side, lifting his arm and draping it over her shoulders. She gently wrapped an arm around him to support him.* "Come on... Let's get you fixed up." *She led him back to the river and helped him to sit down by her supplies. As she began to go through her pack to find her bandages, she spoke softly to him.* "What's your name and what happened here...?"

Artos stared as the woman hepled him to the spring. "M-my name is Artos...a couple days ago, my village was attacked by orcs, a few others accompanied me in trying to defeat them, but we were outmatched and quickly defeated. I managed to escape before I was killed, and have been walking for several days looking for anybody." he watched her as she looked through her supplies, he had been hoping for anybody, but it surprised him that he had met an elf, it had been ages since he had last seen one, 5 years to be exact.

*Naurwen's blue eyes softened slightly as she took out her bandages and a rag. She leaned over, soaking the rag in the river before wringing it out. Deciding that now was not the time to worry about the man's clothing, she carefully ripped the clothing over his wound so that she could clean it properly. She gently pressed the rag over the gash, holding it there with one hand. With her other hand, she reached for a vial that lay in her pack.* "Well, Artos... You found somebody. My name is Naurwen..." *She took the rag off of the wound for only a brief second, opening the vial and gently holding it to his lips.* " Drink this... It's miruvor... It should help."

Artos gently pushed the vial closer and drank what was inside. "Thank you Lady Naurwen. you saved my life, I am in your debt." He nodded his head slightly, a small smile upon his lips.

*Naurwen smiled in return.* "You're quite welcome, mellon nin." *She returned the vial to her pack before returning to cleaning his wound. She was gentle and careful not to cause him any further pain. Afterwards, she wrapped his shoulder tightly in bandages. She gently placed a hand on his chest, urging him to lie down.* "You should get some rest. Don't worry... I'll look after you. I'm not going anywhere."

Truthfully, he didn't want to sleep, he hadn't for awhile, but something about her reassured him, and he layed back on the grass, and fell into a light sleep. He dreamt of that night again. The orcs ran into town, brandishing their weapons, 'take no prisoners' one yelled, and every citizen in the town ran for their doomed lives. In real life, right then, a light sweat formed on the top of his head, nothing else would give you any clue of his nightmare, he was silent as the grave, not moving, and not showing any sign of discomfort or fright. In the real world he was fine, in his dream world, he relived the entire travisty over and over again.

*Naurwen smiled softly as Artos fell asleep. She watched over him in silence as she cleansed her rag in the waters of the river. She glanced over at Rhovan once, noticing that he seemed quite disgruntled. She knew that he didn't enjoy staying in one place long. However, she wasn't going to leave this man any time soon... He was going to need someone to help him out for a while. When she turned back to look at him, she noticed that he was sweating slightly. She wrung her rag out again, knowing that it was as clean as it was going to get, and gently brushed it over his forehead, hoping to relax him a little and make him more comfortable. There was no telling what he had seen... Setting her rag down again, Naurwen gathered what was left of her food, deciding that he would need to eat something when he woke up.*

Aww...I love Naurwen, she's so nice. -------------------------- Artos woke slightly from his 'dream' if you could call it that, and blearily stared at Naurwen. He felt the rag on his forehead, and smiling slightly, fell back asleep, comforted that she had kept her word, though he never really doubted it. ~Naurwen~ Setting her rag down again, Naurwen gathered what was left of her food, deciding that he would need to eat something when he woke up

((lol. Thank you. She's not this nice all the time though... She's probably the spunkiest elf I've ever seen... ;D ))
*As Naurwen placed her remaining food, various nuts, berries, and dried meat, on the simple wooden plate that she carried with her, Rhovan came and laid down in the grass near her and Artos. She smiled at him before filling her earthenware mug with clear water from the river. She set both the plate and the mug near Artos before getting to her feet and stretching. She moved over to Rhovan, gently patting him on the nose before sitting down beside him. She leaned back against his side and tilted her head back, staring up at the sky. Deciding to pass the time with song as she usually did, she began singing softly and clearly, not wanting to wake Artos.*
"A Elbereth Gilthoniel, silivren penna míriel o menel aglar elenath! Na-chared palan-díriel o galadhremmin ennorath, Fanuilos, le linnathon nef aear, sí nef aearon..."

Artos was asleep again, and again dreamed of his past. His wife, Camille, was again complaining about the shabby life they had, about how they deserved teh best, and he was ignoring her. It seemed all she wanted to do was complain for her entire life. He wondered how he got stuck with her, then he remembered, *that blasted arranged marriage*, he thought, *I can't believe MY parents still had to practice that.* he groaned at his annoyance and she 'hmphed' madly, and stormed off to their room. *uh oh... I shoud probably sleep on the couch tonight...* Artos slept for a couple hours, and after a good enough rest, he slowly started to wake. He lifted himself onto his elbows, putting most of his weight on his uninjured side, and looke around a bit. When he saw Naurwen, he smiled and sat up. "Hello," he sighed, "it's a night, or maybe early morning, I really don't know." he smiled, wpiping the sleep from his eyes.

*Naurwen smiled at Artos, shaking her head a little.* "Dawn is still a few hours off... The food and water there is for you..." *Naurwen sat by the small fire that she had made near the man, tending it to keep it alive and warm enough for him. Rhovan was asleep in the grass nearby.* "It's good that you slept so long... I was hoping to bring you with me to Rivendell, that is if you have no objections, but I think we'd best wait another day. I don't want to move you too soon but you could do with some better healing skills than that which I possess."

Artos smiled a bit wider and tossed a berry in his mouth. "To Rivendell? Of course I have no objections. But I must say that you have done a fine job of helping and healing me. I promise to repay you when I can." He ate another berry. "Truthfully, when I left the town, I never expected such kind treatment."

"Truthfully, when I left the town, I never expected such kind treatment."
*Naurwen laughed a little, tucking a few loose strands of her hair behind her pointed ears.* "The world is not all bad, hir nin. Not yet anyway... You'll meet much kinder folk than I in Imladris."
