Hey guys, I made this same thread on my other forum, but because we've been having some difficulties, I wasn't able to get much feedback so far (one person XD). So, hoping to get some more feedback on it, here's the same post:
That's who I'm talking about. More or less it was a random drawing I did because I was bored, but I recently came up with a few ideas that might turn her into a usable RP character. The thing is, it's vastly different from the usual character that can shoot fireballs out of her palms or swing a sword around like a pro, so I wanted to get some opinions from you guys about it before I use it. You know, just so I know it'd be okay before I go through all the work of making a bio for her, lol.
First of all, the character's name is Eve; she's about 19-20 years old I would think, doesn't talk much, wears strange clothes, definatly has a lot of hair seeing in the picture, and apparently is blind so far, she already seems kinda weird.
But, I was thinking about what she would be able to do. My idea was that instead of using a physical means of fighting or such, she's very effective in spiritual doings. I brainstormed about it (more or less while I was trying to sleep the other night), and here's what I came up with...
-Through a small ritual, she is able to leave her own body as a spirit as though she were dead, but can return to her body willingly at mostly any time as long as it is still living (she appears to be dead, though just barely still breathes while it is soul-less.)
-While as more or less a ghost, she is invisible to everyone and everything (just like a normal ghost would be if they existed in an RP) unless whoever it is happens to be able to see/interact with spirits. As in the same effect, she is vulnerable to any type of magic or ritual that effects the dead. The 'ghost' however, cannot pass through solid objects as she is still tied to her living body. This allows Eve to still interact with the 'living' world while remaining invisible. Though there is a strict limit to what she can do--the ghost cannot directly harm any living thing ('directly' meaning the ghost itself can pick up a sword, for example, but it can't use it to kill a guard or something. Though this is not the same as if she had spooked a guard, and then he accidentally backed up off of a cliff). Doing so would cause the penalty of being permanantly sealed off from her own, or other's bodies, effectively making her the same as being dead.
-One of the things I wasn't sure if anyone would agree to is the idea of a posession ability. As a spirit, Eve has the chance to temporarily take control of another person's body, though, in order to do so, the said person has to be of weak will power or distressed into a state of panic or grief that is enough to weaken their spirit enough for her to take his/her body over. While 'encased' in another body, Eve is limited to the same limitations that she would be in her own body such as pain, emotion, and death. If the body she is in currently dies, then her spirit would be lost just as if she had died in her own body. In addition, within near-death moment such as falling off a cliff, feeling extreme pain, or being mortally wounded, she cannot release her spirit from the body she is currently in, and to even do so takes about five minutes or so. While she currently has control of another's body, the "true owner's" soul is left in a dormant state, though still attached to his/her own body. After Eve relieves control of it and returns either to her own body or to her spiritual form, the "true owner" will have thought they fell asleep and would not recall what happened while Eve was in control (Given, of course, that the character/NPC she posessed did not have the 'special ability' to do so.)
Again, I'm kinda unsure about this one, so let me know what you think about it.
-Also, I'm not sure about her eyes yet either. I'd like to say that she can't use them for seeing anymore, but should she just be normally blind? Or would, say, someone looking into her open eyes have some effect on whoever did it? Or maybe having her eyes open does something to Eve instead, or makes the person who looked into them do something, as someone suggested on the other forum?
So, yeah, post and let me know what you think.
