Deep in the forest of Ashalaine lies a village named Rockwanae. It's population is small, about 500 or so. The rulers, King Theodore and Queen Reneeya have noticed a riple in their perfect living. Something unsettling in the forest for the peasants. A week ago an unfortunate event took place, Christoph Denvar was found decapitated a short distance from the village. A guard on the outskirts of the village says he witessed the event taking place and was too petrified to call anyone over.
He says that it was a monster of great force, and had the deepest eyes of anyone he's ever seen. The person, or animal was not recognized.
King Theodore called on all his elite guards and commanded they stay on the ouskirts of the village. Given the best weaponry the village could afford.
Throughout this week many guards have been disappearing without a trace of evidance. Some say they are pulled away by giant dogs standing on their hind legs, other say they are ripped to pieces by ghost-faced creatures with large canine fangs. Others note they see glowing humans with wings, or Elf-like humans prancing around in the crop fields.
After the disappearnces King Theodore has annouced a new kind of guard. Today, at the village hall, people gather 'round, with new hopes, waiting for a way to end the terror.
"Gather around yee, I have an annoucement for all the village's ears," He preps himself,"Today I call forth the brave and gifted, the lean and muscular, and the agile. We seem to be a feasting party of unknown races, living in Ashalaine. I don't mean to frighten you, but as the king I must tell the truth. We are in grave danger, Now please, if you are willing to risk your life for the rest of the village's existance, please, come to the castle at 12 sharp, if no one shows we will be taking peopel by force. That is all, thank you."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile:
"Arghs, stupid guards, they think they can just walk into this place like they own it.." Ellona put her hands in her pockets and walked passed the large crowd, her massive sword hanging off her back. She didn't know what was happening with the village, but she sure didn't like that the amount of guards increased during this past week. They tried to take her blade away, and she ran for it.. So what if she had a rather large, abnormal, blade hanging off her back, what did they take her for? An evil doer just waiting to kill innocent people. The blade was her father's and the only pocession she had left of her parents, she sure wouldn't let some cowardly men take it away, she probably had more skills then them with swords. Whatever they thought, they were totally wrong. Ellona decided to sit infront of a restaurant, hopefully some scraps would be thrown out.."Why do i always feel like a dog?" She asked herself as she fiddled with her shirt hem.
(alrighty, that is the first post, people with demons or whatever, please don't join just yet.. I'm not quite sure if I'm the only slayer, but if so.. it'll take a while to start the plot.)

Amanda had been traveling for days not on foot from the nearest ocean. She had heard of the village Rockwanae, where her old friend Ellona lived.
"She better still be here.." She thought to herself, tipping the front end of her hat up so she could see the path ahead of her. The gates were before her, slammed shut. She approached them, looking up between sentry posts.
"Hello? Anyone up there?" She yelled up to the walls. The gates did not open.
She let out an exasperated sigh. Then out of the corner of her eye she caught a tree just large enough to slide on top of the wall. She approached it slowly and slid on a pair of leather gloves.

While awaiting her dinner, Ellona sat fiddling with her blade. Cleaning it of course and sharpening it with her pocket knife. The blade shone as the sun came out from behind the clouds a crisp bright yellow set on her blade.
The blade was made of a stone, said to be magical, although Ellona never sensed a magical pressence while carrying the blade, she believed the legend true. The blade was about 2 meters long, and 50 cms wide, with chisled teeth the blade would sure get a good hold of anything.
Out of nowhere Ellona was picked up by the collar, "Oi what'da ya think y'ur doin'?" The owner of the restaurant gave a scowl, and dropped her out on the street. "No loi'ering ! can't ye read a sign?" He yelled as he pointed to a red sign.
Ellona brushed herself off and began walking again, "No good people in this town, all they are is selfish." She mumbled to herself, as she put her hands in her pockets again.

Amanda slid down from the tall wall onto a thatch roof, then to the ground. She strolled up the central street at a slow pace, taking a trip down memory lane. The old bakery where she had made her first gig, but had failed miserably. Her right hand still stung from time to time by the tatoo that the had embedded in her skin. Then there was the school building rising up above the buildings a few alley ways back.
"Not much has changed." She said softly to herself. Then she came up to a small restaurant. She looked into one of the windows, then moved on, a bit faster. Ahead of her, she say the image of someone walking a bit slower than her.
"Ahoy there!" She yelled ahaid, hoping the person would hear her.

He was surprised he hadn't thought of this before. This way he kept himself occupied through the day and if he was lucky, get fed and even earn some money. Anthal was getting bored, staying in his treehouse everyday, alone with no one to talk to. Well, he still didn't have anyone to talk to. He made himself a cloak that was large enough to cover his face and some of his visible elvish features like the ears.
He was now sitting above the restaurant, on the roof. People always wondered how he got up there. He didn't have his bow with him but he had tucked it way on a tree, out of view near the edge of the forest. The restaurant was closest to the way he took to get into town and thats why he had chosen it. He sat down with his legs crossed and cleaned the flute he took out from under the cloak somewhere. He started playing a chirpy tune which it seemed attracted a lot more customers for breakfast to the restaurant.
When the owner realized how he was helping them, he decided to give him food after closing time at night in exchange for this free entertainment at his place. Sometimes, the patrons left small change for him and he handed that to him on occasion as well.
The curious thing was no one, not even the owner knew he was blind or not human for that matter. Though he had to tell the owner he had bad eyesight as an excuse for the few fumbles he made while receiving his 'payment'.
He smiled as he played as he could see a few forms beginning to approach the restaurant.

This town seemed to have turned paranoid overnight. At least, that's how Constantia saw it; she'd been coming here every week for several years, once she figured out she could barter for those delicious red fruits humans called 'raspberries' and 'tomatoes', although the latter did make them suspicious because they were supposedly "poisonous". And without fail, she always had an assortment of forest berries that were considered delicacies by the humans because few dared to venture that deep into the brush, and that was where they grew best. They were her trade, in a sense, as few others ever had them regularly; when they did, they were always of poorer quality than her own.
But today, it seemed like hardly anyone was open. Or about, for that matter. All but one of her regular stands that she traded with were closed already, and the owner of the only open one- who happened to be one of the newer ones she frequented- forced her to choose between one or the other, a peculiar habit at best. As she approached him, digging through the basket she always carried, Constantia inquired of him "So what has these quiet folk all couped up as of late? Don't tell me they're trying another silly 'election'... that last one didn't turn out quite so well, now did it?"
The shopkeeper eyed her suspiciously as she stifled a giggle at the thought of it. "Ya don't already know 'bout them guards disappearin', missy?" At that, she immediately returned the suspicious stare with a stout and resolute pout, as if to say "And your point is?" "You know full well that I do not live here, and only make my rounds once a week. Now stop with this foolishness and let us do business here." The shopkeeper, seemingly ignorant of the look he was getting, continued "They say watev'r it is has been comin' from the forest o'er there yonder."
Now that was something worth listening to. Constantia had never thought herself as being a 'protector of the forest' or anything of the like, but something malicious slipping past her sights was something to be worried about indeed. She would have cocked her ears towards him if she weren't in her usual disguise, the one she'd practiced and practiced for years until she was nearly completely invisible against the background. Even her once brilliant blue kimono had dulled until it looked nearly like the rest of the population's clothing. The shopkeeper continued "Th' king is supposed te form some sorta new guard at th' castle t'day. 12 e'clock sharp, t' be exact."
Constantia stood there for a moment, thinking things over. If these humans were creating a new section of fighters for the sole task of eliminating their perceived threat, then every existence within it was threatened by them, unless a guide was provided them; if they were simply set free upon the woods, no doubt they would slay or 'arrest' any being in sight, innocent or otherwise. If she could convince them that a guide would be beneficial, then perhaps disaster could be adverted. And it seemed there was no better day than today to do so. If the castle were to be open today, then that would mean direct audience with whomever ran this establishment. King, lord, mayor, whatever; all human authority figures were equal in her eyes, no matter the size of the land they controlled.
She thanked the shopkeeper and left for the other side of town. Seeing as the town gates had been shut for now, she couldn't leave for her home deep in the woods to deposit the tomatoes she'd just bought, so Constantia took them with her, balancing the basket they occupied on the end of the staff she carried everywhere- which was almost taller than she was- as she exited the market district and made her way towards the town center. With no money and even fewer possessions of worth beyond what she brought with her, she had nothing to trade for drinks or food, as if that really mattered at the moment. Still, Constantia could amuse herself for a while, as it had been some time since she'd walked the streets for anything but business reasons, and certainly several things had changed, even in a town like this...

It looked like the day was going to get longer. Lucifer found himself kneeling in the shrubs, his head peering out from the top as he surveyed the area. Moving through this area was painful enough without the constant badgering of the alerted town guard. Not that they were well-trained, this being such a small town, but they were enough to cause a problem. He sighed as he spit on the ground, pulling back his bow as a patrolman walked by him no more than ten feet in front of him. The wood crackled as it bowed, and the guard noticed all too late.
He fell dead to the ground quickly, not even a sound as the arrow slammed right through his head. Lucifer wasted no time, and darted from the brush, some sticks still sticking to the studs on his armor. Kneeling down and grabbing the guard by the shoulders, he looked around for any who might be patrolling. He went to lift the guard up and drag him into the brush, but soon found himself sliding the large man through it.
Fat bastard guard... What the hell was he eating...
With that finished, it was only a short time before the elite archer could make his way to the city. He knew now that his antics the night before had alerted the guards, stealing from the king would be a much more difficult feat. It seems the country fools weren't as helpless as Lucifer had expected. Sitting completely still, not even budging for a moment, Lucifer surveyed the area, and waited until all guards were out of sight. They didn't seem to notice the missing man... At least not yet. He knew he didn't have a whole lot of time, once the guards found out they were missing one, this place would break into chaos. He had to have the jewels by then.
Moving like lightning across the night sky, Lucifer tore through the brush and darted to the city. The small wooden walls were nothing. He placed his hand on a nearby rock, kicked off it with his foot, and launched himself over it. Quickly rolling to his feet, he darted into an alley, just moments before a guard walked by. It seemed he had not lost the foolish arrogance of his father.
He thought about that monster, and hated every moment for what he had done. How could he have a child knowing what he was... what she was. Even the thought of that old bastard made him angry, and the smile that followed was the pain on his fathers face when his own son took his life. Foolish old man. That lycan bastard mated with a slayer. He knew his offspring would be a freak, but he did in anyways, for his own pleasure. Greedy whore...
His mother was a good woman, which sickened Lucifer all the more. She fought to rid the world of his kind. Yet, she mated with that which she had set out to destroy. How could she?! She made Lucifer what he was, and it would be with her dying breath that he forgave her for it. After he murdered his father, his mother went into hiding, escaping his ultimate fury... for now.
However, now was not the time for flashbacks of his family. One was already suffering for his foolishness, the other would soon meet her lover. Lucifer looked back to the task at hand, and knew that he was running out of time. It was nearing noon, and if he didn't move quickly, he knew that there would be no getting at the king. He wasted no more time on the whores that were his parents. Bolting from the shadows of the alleyway, he ran up the side of a building, reaching the rooftop and pulling himself up. He rolled out of sight of anyone on the ground, and kept his eyes peeled for any that might decide to be on the roof. Seeing a cloaked figure he knew wasn't a guard, he slowly crawled on his stomach to avoid attracting attention. When the chance arrived, the man was distracted by patrons of the nearby restaurant, and that gave Lucifer his sign to move.
Rising to his feet, he lept to another rooftop and rolled into an alley. When he hit the ground, he rolled behind some trash without hardly making a sound. Pulling an arrow from his quiver, he nocked his bow and looked out at two guards to the king's palace, the last two things in his way...
You're in trouble now...

Ellona disliked all this movement in her town, she wanted silence and tea, which would be just the thing for her right now. She sighed as people yelled things throughout the market, she was making her way there, hoping to catch a fish as they foolishly threw it to their customers. She walked gracefully, pracing almost. Her blade shining as the sun hit it while falling slowly.
She sighed, 'What a place this planet is, I wonder what all these people think of it," she took out a book she had stole the other day named "Forever Lost, Thy Wonders." She loved the book, it really spoke to her, everything in it true. Her face paled as she walked slowly into the market. Guards at every stand, they stood confidently. She stopped in her place, and sighed, yet again.
"Here ye, Here ye, The king demands slayers to join him for dinner. If none come people shall be taken by force. Come if ye want the chance to be a hero or heroine as well as a lifetime supply of the kings finest vegtables!" said by a scrawny paper boy. Ellona rose an eyebrow, 'Hmm, lifetime supply of teh kings finest vegatvles? Sounds too good to be true.'

*crickets chirp o.o*
A shadow slid past the girl; Constantia entered the market district, which had grown somewhat since her last time here. The basket swung lithely from the end of her staff as she made her way through the crowd, ignoring the occasional odd stare in her direction, as she was used to such things. She had heard the decree, but wasn't interested in talking over a nice but unnourishing meal. She knew what kind of food the humans around here ate, and it nearly sickened her just thinking of it all. Pigs? Cattle? What kind of bastard child would feed upon such unclean animals? It took far too long to roast such a meal, and eating it raw was out of the question. And even when it had cooked long enough, you needed an unhealthy amount of spices just to make it appealing... truly, such items would upset her delicate stomach.
No, what she wished for was simple; fish and fruits. Vegetables were fine and all, but fruits had the better tastes; the prior were more of supplements to fish. Or rabbits, but they were hard to catch, and she couldn't look when she killed them, so they often got away. Squirrels had too little on them, and anything else around a rabbit's size was too tough. So once more, she relied upon fish, albeit a different variety from what she was used to having.
Her mind had wandered a moment too long, however, and before Constantia could knock herself back into reality, she'd run into a rather large guard right in front of her. She fell backwards with an *oaff!*, landing hard on her butt as the guard stared at her and began yelling commands and whatnot at her. And then it stopped, all the yelling and whatnot... and when Constantia looked down, she quickly realized why; her legs, where some of her less-hidden areas were, had been exposed by the fall.
She quickly covered her scaled legs, but not before a halberd was stuck in her face, and the foaming guard began calling to the others. This wasn't good, not one bit... Constantia backed up, and the blade followed, even as she picked up what she had and got ready to fight if it came to that... What she needed was a distraction, and fast, before things got uglier, because she sure as hell wasn't getting taken prisoner by these humans, not if there was a way out.
