"What weight class are we going to be up against here? I just want to know what tactics I should go in with here."

Alexander almost rolled his eyes, but caught himself at the last second. "I can't tell what kind of mechs they have with just comm traffic" he said mater-of-fact-ly. "If you could get me some better scanning equipment, I'd be able to give you every detail you could ask for. Of course, my 'mech could also scout ahead." He gestured towards the nearby Firemoth. It had a slightly altered paint job with brighter reds than usual as well as orange accents. "You want me to take Blazer out?"

"That's really the commanders call, but I sugest you get a paint job that sticks out less in the future. I don't care how hard your mech is to find on radar or targeting systems, a red and orange mech is bound to draw some unwanted attention."

"Or you could have me and Kit go out. Our bird has stealth capabilities, and could get a good scan of the target area." The Janitor offered.

"That's not a bad idea," Seth said. "Stealth capabilities sound like something we'll need if we're doing some scouting, and I'm not sure what sort of stealth package that modified Firemoth has." He paused, then added, "Besides, this was intended as a non-Mech mission. We were going to go in on foot, though the presence of enemy 'Mechs is obviously troublesome for an infiltration mission." And even more so for a sabotage mission, he thought. If they're manned, we can't very well sabotage them.
(OOC: What specifically were you going for as far as Mech-on-Mech combat is concerned, GG? I had intended only the end of the mission to have us in Mechs, but that might not work now.)

"I am pretty sure I have enough payload to take out a couple mechs." He said, thinking of what weapons he had. (let me know if I am mistaken, but Mechs take a sh**load to kill).

(Yes, they do. Usually a single aircraft can only destroy one, at least in the video games, and even then they've gotta be really lucky shots.)
"If you're heading out there to destroy rather than scout, bring enough squadronmates to take out the entire hangar," Seth told The Janitor. "They'll be expecting us once you reveal yourself so openly."
Turning back to Alexander, he asked, "What are the best avenues to slip past those 'Mechs on foot undetected?"

"If the hanger is above ground and the shield generators were down I could bring a micro fusion bomb.. Handy for taking out everything in about a mile radius, but I cant hold anything but that and will have to return to base for reload." (dont want to power play)

"The mission would lose most of its psychological warfare value that way, but if we can't figure out another way to sort these 'Mechs then you're a go for that," Seth told The Janitor. He turned back to Alexander, waiting for a response.

"Roger that. Kit have the crew perp a micro fission bomb to be loaded and to unload the rest of our weaponry." He said into the com.

((oy, I go to table-top RP for one day and y'all just go flying XD also, I was thinking that not even the laziest commanders would leave a mech hanger unguarded. Lastly, Blazer isn't bright red. The red Clan Wolf insignia is just a bit brighter and there are some orange slivers here and there around the heat sinks... sorry. I was assuming y'all had seen the clan wolf paint job XD ))
Alexander paused to think. How can we get through... he thought. He looked back at his computer terminal for a moment, then faced Seth again with a grin on his face. "Every base needs supplies. We repaint the 'mechs to look like falcon scrap heaps, and I can hack their transponder systems. We just need a few dummy vehicles to bring in the 'supplies.' The other option is to wait until tomorrow. They have a supply shipment coming in. Judging by what the 'mech pilots were saying, there won't be a single 'mech on patrol while the convoy is at the base. I think they might be a bit too comfortable in that base. How does that sound?"

"Besides the paint job, I'm all for it. What about you sir?" He said, turning to Seth.

"Why, exactly, are we trying to disguise our 'mechs and bring them with us?" Ratache walked towards the small group, having come in on the tail end of the conversation. "Now, I could be mistaken, but I'm reasonably sure that I was told to come armed for combat that doesn't involve 'mechs. Last time I checked, out of 'mech combat doesn't usually involve, you know, being in a 'mech."

"The enemy had 'Mechs, so we were screwing with the mission parameters in order to make sure we could take them out if we needed to," Seth explained. "We have three options now... let The Janitor strike our target for us with a micro fission bomb, which would completely obliterate everything in the area but wouldn't make the enemy nearly as angry as I wanted to; go in with disguised 'Mechs today; or wait until the base is just defended by infantry and vehicles tomorrow. I'd prefer the third option... if we bring our own 'Mechs with us, we have to ride them back out, which will cause us to take less in the way of isorla."
(OOC: Isorla is the Clan word for "spoils of war", for those who don't know. The mission -- I've decided to come clean now -- is to slip into the enemy hangar, plant explosive charges on about three-quarters of the enemy 'Mechs, steal the other enemy 'Mechs, and take them with us as we leave.)

(Sounds good. I will provide covering fire when the hanger blows.)
"Alrighty..." The Janitor said. "Kit, today's operation has been scrubbed. Cool the engines, but, keep 'er loaded for tomorrow."
"Roger that." Was all that came from the mic, along with the loud whine of the catapult to launch his aircraft being lowered.
