He looked around frantically for a way out but only saw a few machines approaching from the left.
"Not that way obviously."
He grabbed Jaclyn's hand and ran as fast as he thought she could keep up, holding the almost empty gun in one hand and firing on a supporting pillar they were approaching. Upon passing the concrete column, he grabbed the last of his grenades and pulled the three pins, dropping them at the base and ran out of the room.
An explosion shook the foundations slightly and the room the two escaped from caved in on top of the approaching machines.
"That wont hold them for long," he said. "Those thing are harder to get rid of than cockroaches."
He looked around at the area and looked back at the girl.
"I'm stumped. Any ideas?"

"um... run away?" she shrugged and looked around for an empty hall or stair case. "this way." she lead him off in what appeared to be a clear direction.

A fully grown mand being dragged my an injured girl. What a sight it was to behold. The two ran as fast as they could and finally ended up outside on the other side of the building. The mechanical sounds were still close, too close, so they still needed to get farther away.
Looking around for transport, Cobalt spotted a truck 50 meters away. It looked to be in a bad condition, bullet holes covered the vehicle and its previous occupants were still inside though unrecognisable. He motioned his head towards the truck then turned back towards the building with his gun ready to provide cover fire if needed.
"Check and see if that thing still works. I'll cover you."

Jaclyn nodded and moved to the truck, getting rid of the bodies inside before testing the truck. It still worked, but she didn't know for how long.

Since no T-32s were seen, he turned and ran to the truck then jumped insode, all the while his mind kept wondering how that new guy was faring up there all alone.

Jaclyn closed her door and drove off, quickly getting out of there.

He sat in the back of the vehicle and looked up at the floor where they had left Jack. Flashing lights signified gunfire so he was still alive luckily.
"That moron!" he exclaimed. "Isnt he planning to get out of there?"

"I don't know what he's doing. but he should be getting out...." there was an explosion... "soon?..." she stopped the car and looked back as a huge explosion went off in the hotel, right where Jack was.

Cobalt sat up in his seat and his eyes widened at the sight.
"What the hell!?"
Bright lights and loud noises followed by an aftershock which hit the truck voilently though not overturning it. The room where Jack had made his stand was nothing more than a burning hole now. Flames shot out of the balcony and concrete slabs fell to the wreckage below.
"Oh no.."
Another explosion, a much larger one, shook the ground. The deafening noise alone seemed enough to kill a man but the resulting shockwave would me more than enough. The damaged truck lifted onto two wheels for a moment then collapsed back to four and Cobalt looked up at a horrific sight. The entire floor had been demolished by this great event.
"It cant be.."
Cobalt made a fist and slammed it into the seat beside him. This guy, though suspucious, had surely been killed my those cold bastards. He fought to hold back the tears but it was a losing battle. A single drop escaped his brown eyes and crawled down his cheek then fell on his tight fist. Even if he didnt know the man for very long, one less human is still a triumph for the machines.
"You bastards!!" he screamed, standing in the vehicle. "You'll all burn for that!!"

Slowly the whole building started to fall. Jaclyn put her hand on the wrapping Jack had given her for her leg, feeling bad that he had died for them.

Cobalt collapsed in his seat and the gun landed hard on his crotch. He hadnt even noticed that he was holding it up when he stood. He crouched over and held his privates, his knees closing in from the pain.
"Lets go.." he said in a high pitched voice while his eyes filled with tears. "Theres no need to stay here unless you want to take out a few more T-32s."

"Mother F*ckin Peice of Sh*t rockets!" Jack yelled from underneath some debree. " d**n T-32s....little metal faced pu**ies."
With that, Jack pushed a large door off of him. He stood up, and looked at what had happened. All of the machines layed around him blown to bits, only way he was even lucky enough to be here was because of a door that actually stood up to the explosion. Although he still payed a price for his luck. His right arm was broken and had cuts all over, and from the feel of things...two of his ribs were broken as well.
Jack lowered his hand to his supply belt, which held a radio. He raised it to his mouth and pressed a button on the side.
"This is Jack Thompson....of Alpha squad...If there is any one listening...that means you are some what near me...I'm in a blown up, half ass hotel some were in...I think I'm in New York....Any ways....get your *sses over here to me and give me a lift....I have what appears to be a badly broken arm, with plenty of cuts and..." He lowered his hand down to his side then squinted in pain before bringing the radio back to his mouth." Yeah....Two broken ribs....Hurry up and get me before these god forsaken robots do...."
Jack lowered the radio and placed it back on his belt, then bending down and picking up his G36 that was still some how intact and layed next to him, he hung it across his body and once again bent down, this time for his m21 that was next to him to begin with. He raised the rifle up onto his shoulder, gripping the handle tightly to overcumb pain, and began walking to the hole that had been blown out by the rocket.
As soon as he jumped out the window, and made it across the street. The hotel collapsed, destroying any remaining machines inside.
"Lucky me..........God I hope some one got my message...." He then walked over to the building closest to him and leaned up against it, not paying attention to the fact that blood was leaking from his arm and all over himself and the wall.

Blood trickled down the soldier's limp arm, dripping off his finger and landing in a slow forming pool. His vision began to worsten from blood loss, images began to merge and black began to creep in from the corners of his view.
"C-cold.....so cold." He said, his body shivering all over.
Jack closed his eyes, raising his hand to his face and wiping away the cold sweat that rested on his brow. He let his arm fall back to his side, reopening his eyes and struggling to focus on his surroundings.
"I'm over here." He said to an invisible figure. The lack of blood had caused him to begin loseing his grip on reality.
The figure vanished as easily as it appeared and was soon forgoten by the man. Jack reached his hand up to one of his pockets in his jacket and removed a cigarrette from a pack he kept hidden from others. He raised it and place it in his mouth before lowering his hand back into the pocket, this time removing a silver zippo lighter, the marines emblem painted on the side and his name etched into the bottom. With the flick of his wrist the top poped open and the wick inside lit. Jack raised it to the end of the cigarette and lit it, taking one small drag on before flicking his wrist once again and closing the lighter, placing it back in the pocket with the smokes.
The chemicals quickly began to calm Jack as he continued to wait for some one to arrive and give him a lift. He had no idea that he was losing blood and nearly forgot about his arm all together.
